I was all over the place with my prediction v Croatia. But then, v Denmark, I predicted the full time score, that Denmark's goal would be directly from a free kick and that Pickford wouldn't be covering himself in glory with their goal.
So, hoping to keep my half decent mystic run going, here's what will happen tomorrow:
Southgate, predictably, will pick a negative back five, restricting the possibly of an England goal to someone haring down a wing, cross and 6 yard tap in, or a corner. Or a fluky penalty. Despite this negativity, Italy will race into a 2 goal lead and look comfortable with it. Well into the second half Southgate will realise that there's more to football than haring down wings. Pushing Phillips further forward, teaming him with Mount and Foden England will attempt to play football for the first time in the tournament. This will result in Sir Harry, who somehow makes it easy to look 15 years older than he is, bagging a nicely constructed goal. Regrettably, this will spur the previously sleepy Italians into new life. They will take advantage of the extra space resulting from England attempting to play football, and bag a lovely third.
And so, it will be going to Rome.
Your predictions please.

If I were you Ricco I'd see what odds you can't get on that.

I'm sure a few hundred thousand or even in the millions of other people will watch and not have seen other games. I'm not too confident we will ever see many more finals with England involved.

They win when I don't watch thebfg ... the only help I can be is in not watching Besides the Italians are particularly terrible at the over exaggerated injury play-acting in my experience. Rog

Rog i As a longtime watcher of English football, I can assure you we have plenty of home grown play acting footballers.

I'm sure you're right ... football was my game upto discovering rugby in 1969. Football in the seventies was very blood and thunder ... when I next watched in the nineties it was all rolling around feigning injury, and it appears to have got worse since then. So I listen to radio commentaries instead, and picture it as I remember Rog

I wouldn't trust Italians too much but in their favour they tend to be extremely warm, friendly people. So different to the Spanish.

The players would easily stand comparison to rugby players strength and fitness wise. In fact, the likes of Ronaldo would I’m sure make great rugby players.

I don't care if England lose. Mancini was, is, and always will be, a legend.
Mancini, oh oh oh
Mancini, oh oh oh
He came from Italy
To manage Man City
Repeat as many times as the state of inebriation dictates.

Unfortunately he is also a very good manager. He's mad as eggs. But, a lovely, warm person rather than the typical robot who hold senior positions these days. He doesn't lack the Italian short fuse but uses it appropriately. Mostly, at least. Us City fans were gutted when he was sacked. 'A more holistic approach' was the reason given by the Arab owners. The truth is the Italian outlook on life is the very opposite of that of rich Arabs. If I had my way the Arabs would fuck off with their immorally gained wealth and let the club get its soul back. If that meant league 1, so be it.
