Must not laugh or comment but that gig is up the road from me. Loosely spoken. We go to the park there as our friends live nearby. A few more venues around here are looking to cancel too. At l

pickford the little T-rex with his little arms. For a balanced view. He made two good saves in the shootout. On another day that could have been the difference. Sure, but if a keeper guesses correctly and the ball isn't in the corner he's a good chance of saving a penalty. Even I saved a few! For further balance, that 'great save' he made in the leadup to Italy's proper goal; if there had been a better keeper, a goal wouldn't have resulted. Probably. And a better keeper would never let a free kick from 30 yards go in unless it was struck with exceptional power and tracked right into a top corner. For a true appraisal of Pickford, it's better to speak to Everton fans who watch all their games. I'm not saying he's a bad keeper, but for a team aiming to win a major competition, he's a liability. I saved loads too but I'll have to admit not a the winning penalty at the euro final. Which it would have been. Unless it was six aside I hated those. From about 10 foot away. Even if I saved it it bloody hurt.

, it amazes me really, you don't hear people say how boring they find watching the snooker or tennis. Snooker is incredibly interesting. Darts is a lot better though. If there was one sport in the world and I could chose it it would be darts any day. I really like darts.

Id had you figured as more understanding of other people’s likes, or dislikes than this Nick. We all have differing interests in life. Football always brings out the comments about how dull it is and would rather watch paint dry, it amazes me really, you don't hear people say how boring they find watching the snooker or tennis. No I would say watching tennis is just as bad. For some odd reason I find snooker slightly less boring, not sure why. But I certainly wouldn’t watch it out of choice. But one difference is that tennis and snooker are not thinly disguised excuses for thuggery, racism and sectarianism.

I think the over 70's should be forced into self isolation again this winter. How cruel.

It's a fascinating subject ... why exactly does soccer attract more than it's share of unpleasantness ? But I don't think it can be right to damn a particular sport for the ills of society , or indeed for individual sports to seek to be superior to others. Here's to a more equitable, diverse , more just society, in which all our sports can thrive in a true spirit of sportsmanship Rog

Not my favourite comedian - you got that wrong! He has come out with some interesting stuff, though. Funnier than anything you've ever come out with, that's for sure. Interesting or not, he like you doesn’t know when to keep ones mouth shut for the better.

Nothing will ever erase the hatred fans feel for opponents or indeed anyone not from the same tribe as themselves. Cavemen didn't wage war because they loved the cavemen in the next valley or respected their right to diversity.

I truly don't understand that Mr StabbyOther sports, the fans can appreciate great play, the better team won etc. Surely the purpose of team sport is to measure yourself against others, and no team always wins. I don't see why tribalism and hate HAVE to play any part. It's just a game. Rog

Rog Well, yes, but I also agree with Stabby's caveman analogy. Its not so much that we are evolved from apes but more that we are apes. Lots of people get all hot under the collar about this because it's sort of a bit true. Sanctimony?

You had to quote me BEFORE I corrected my spelling !
Don't you think that becomes a lame excuse when it's largely only used for one sport ... Soccer ?
