Eh? If their giant keeper had gambled the other way everyone would be saying 'great penalties'. It's a lottery, nothing else. Perhaps the keeper knew which way and didn't gamble. Rushford missed the goal entirely had he not, it would have been a different story and we could have forgotten the other two. Blah blah blah. Yes it's a lottery, but sending the keeper the wrong way and scoring is a skill in my opinion. Eta. He is a giant isn't he and fully deserved player of the tournament. He was the goalkeeper in my dream team.

I didn't realise that Southgate was a cub scout. He said his first taste of football was a 6 a side tournament as a cub, as long as he did his best then I'll be happy. To be fair to him the penalty takers and the decision to bring two on with seconds to go just to take the penalties is probably the only decisions he got wrong. Once the dust settles and we all move on, I hope that Gareth can become an inspiration to the younger generation, once a scout always a scout.

my views are wrong and yours is the only correct one. Glad to see you finally admit it!

I always find naughtyfox to be the voice of reason. His posts are often excellent, and makes it all the worthwhile logging in to Thunderboat. That's nice.

you lie about what we say. That's nice, making it up now. And who is this 'we' - you speak for yourself, not other members. Anyway, I'm not complaining... I won £200 on Italy. Thanks, knee-taking simpletons :-) I've shown enough examples of you making false claims about what a person has said. As an example, this very post. Where does that sentence speak for anyone else. It claims you lie about posts that myself and other members have written. Nothing in that sentence says anything on behalf of someone else. The fact that I accuse you of something and you do exactly that in the reply speaks volumes.

Just flicked on to BBC and ITV. Dunkirk spirit prevails.. Heroes. here's an interview with Pickford's PE teacher. Here's an interview of people in a pub (at 08.00) Harry Kane talking love and forgiveness, Southgate "we win and lose together". Lets have a competition.. Try and find the most nauseating football related clip this morning. And what bad losers. Behaving like babies. No handshakes and banter with the winners. Taking medals off as soon as they were put on. Not a lesson in good sportsmanship for our youngsters. You are tedious you know that..

I can mention other people and still not be speaking on behalf of them.
The whole post mentions others but at no point did I attempt to speak on their behalf.
I've noted that there was no denial on any other point except the use of the word we.
If you like you can substitute it to I.
I've said you, you will probably claim I spoke on your behalf.
Just give it a rest.

He was the goalkeeper in my dream team. He's a proper beast. If he can improve his distribution he could become an all time great, rival Banks, Schmeichel, Khan, Buffon. Meanwhile England had Pickford, a liability. Along with Joe Hart, possibly the worst England keeper in living memory.

Jeez what a waste of time. All that running around just to get a draw. (Not to mention the girlie rolling around on the ground pretending to be hurt). Why didn’t they skip all the silly time wasting bit and just decide it on who can kick the ball into the goal from the penalty area? It’s all so exciting I think I’ll have to turn it off after watching for the last 5 mins. I can only take so much excitement and I’ve already had a lot today, there was an area of wet paint that had to be watched whilst it dried. Id had you figured as more understanding of other people’s likes, or dislikes than this Nick. We all have differing interests in life. Football always brings out the comments about how dull it is and would rather watch paint dry, it amazes me really, you don't hear people say how boring they find watching the snooker or tennis.

On another day that could have been the difference.

Along with Joe Hart, possibly the worst England keeper in living memory. pickford the little T-rex with his little arms. For a balanced view. He made two good saves in the shootout. On another day that could have been the difference. Sure, but if a keeper guesses correctly and the ball isn't in the corner he's a good chance of saving a penalty. Even I saved a few! For further balance, that 'great save' he made in the leadup to Italy's proper goal; if there had been a better keeper, a goal wouldn't have resulted. Probably. And a better keeper would never let a free kick from 30 yards go in unless it was struck with exceptional power and tracked right into a top corner. For a true appraisal of Pickford, it's better to speak to Everton fans who watch all their games. I'm not saying he's a bad keeper, but for a team aiming to win a major competition, he's a liability.
