Others, albeit probably a smaller group, paid good attention at school. They then followed due process, got a well paid job, responsibility, that type of stuff. But then over time, they realised that pretending to get on with people they couldn't stand, fitting in with a company ethos/ culture and all the other bollocks required to 'get on' wasn't worth it. They realised that life was much better with less money, but more freedom to actually be themselves.

She might be gyrating to Caribbean (sea) Queen right now. I don't mind, as long as she doesn't start waving her knickers over her head, Tom Jones style. She is rather keen on our Billy. He has got the most amazing hair !(Sorry Vinceπ). I described it as having a ship's rope stuck to the back of his head. Caroline wasn't overly impressed with that.

My girlfriend is in Llandudno to see Billy Ocean. I haven't seen her so excited since I stayed at hers the other night. And then you woke up. No, I fell asleep. Us blokes tend to do that, some find it infuriating, believing that it's the perfect time for inane conversation.

Petrol station out this morning, mongs still waiting half hour to get into Tesco. I got my hair cut ok though so thatβs good. Mongs, a succinct description of the type that gets involved in these things. Good on you, I couldn't have chosen a better descriptive word myself.

Clearing a garden this morning managed to get speared by a nail sticking out of an old oak beam. Ouch. My girlfriend is in Llandudno to see Billy Ocean. I haven't seen her so excited since I stayed at hers the other night. More gardening tomorrow then a painting job next week, along with repairing a garden gate. I've also been roped into showing letting agents round a holiday let near me. It's amazing how much work I'm getting despite hardly trying at all.

.............................. all you're doing is paddling up and down, repetitively. what? - a bit like the majority of folk with a mooring - visit the boat on a Sunday afternoon and drive 5 miles, then wind and drive back. Not really. Navigating a boat can be fun, in many ways. While paddleboarding regularly would be good exercise, especially for the core, doing it on flat water with the intention of having fun will leave the participant disappointed, to say the least.

Paddleboarding is a fad. If you can take one out on the ocean and surf waves with it, I get it. Otherwise, once you've learned how not to fall off the thing all you're doing is paddling up and down, repetitively. If the intention is to do it regularly for fitness that makes sense. Otherwise, I foresee lots of people who have bought them doing it a few times then getting bored and never doing it again.
If anyone is after a used paddleboard hang on a year or so, there will be plenty of bargains around.

I paddled in my kayak for 7 years without a licence or insurance. Insurance for what, hitting a narrow boat and sinking it? I was never asked but if that had happened the line would have been 'it's my tender'. Yes, I know you're supposed to stay within sight of your boat, but I have exceptional eyesight.

I've considered having a 'sleeve' on my right arm going across to my chest. My thinking was to show off my toned body as I strut around in vests in the summer, drawing the eyes of the scummy Brummie tourists. However: given that I'm 60 in 3 months I concluded that I'd look a bit more of a twat, so ditched the idea. ftfy That's the one, much obliged.

Afraid not Rog. I called last week it was still awaiting shipping from South Africa. The latest prediction is for it to arrive at the end of this month but if I was a gambling man I'd wager on much later.

I have the ability to snag various wildlife, fish especially. I have the means to take to the water to snag said fish. I'm quite handy with a club or if there isn't one to hand, a hammer. Otherwise, I have nothing to offer.

Just been in Sainsbury in Marlow and there was a severe shortage of peppered mussels which was quite shocking but as above fortunately the beer fridge had some pint cans of Stella in it so all was not lost. And they had pizzas so I think I will survive it. Stella really was the king of lagers when it had its proper 5.2% strength. Now they've watered down it's piss. Pretty decent tasting piss it has to be said but piss, nonetheless.

Bit wet and miserable in Barmouth today but managed to get out for a kayak before the rain started. It was a bit choppy out in the estuary so my cautious side kicked in. Came back inside and headed for pastures new; Fairbourne creek. Very shallow in here if you get away from the small central channel. Came across a large shoal of (sea) mullet mooching around in the sea grass at the edge. Some real monsters amongst them, 5-6lb I'd estimate. (sea) mullet are notoriously difficult to catch, feeding as they do mostly on tiny food items. I have plans for these though, watch this space. Secured 3 more jobs this afternoon. A garden, painting a room and repairing a garden gate. Never thought I'd get this much work, haven't tried at all, all word of mouth. We have loads of ria (or often known as estuary) mullet down here. I've never known anyone to catch one. Good luck, I'll be super impressed if you do. I've never tried for mullet here but had a lot of success with them when I lived in Spain. The trick seems to be to get them used to eating something new. I bought a load of the smallest pasta you can buy, boiled it up then mashed some sardines into it. Flicked this stuff in for ages with no interest. Tried again the next day. After an hour they started taking it. Cautiously at first then they all joined in, competing for it. Catching them was child's play after this, a bite every cast. These were harbour mullet though, estuary fish might behave differently.
