Have you considered growing Dahlias? They would suit the environs and the ballast/shingle driveway with the rover. I like Dahlias. If I had any land to play with I would grow a lot of them. Love Dahlias..house down the road grows amazing ones and beautiful old fashioned highly scented roses... Trouble is they don't(unless very sheltered) over winter very well Mum used to grow Dahlias but she spent a fortune on the right compost and faffed around lifting them every autumn

'They'(dunno who 'they' are) say "If you tell a lie oft enough its becomes the truth".... Its certainly something that certain people in my life regarded as a mantra to adhere to Lying is apparently normal...eldest son tells me 'Everyone lies' Sad reflection on society today that it seems to be the accepted norm.
Far better to disengage with most folk and walk your own path. A counsellor once told me that the only person u can truly rely on is self... though guess some folks must lie to themselves in lying to others and sticking by those facts they've misrepresented. It's a cynical world. This is all too deep for me.

Doesn't seem to have updated its time table for next year yet.. I'll keep an eye on that one as I've had one trip on the Waverley and it could be one to take the grandson... Great trip for kids if they like anything mechanical, you can see how all the bits work ..... not like a modern ship I went on the Waverly few years ago and loved it..there is something mesmerising watching the 'how it all works'. Don't think either grand daughter would appreciate the mechanics, just hoping the boy will..there's gotta be one out of the 3 thats gonna appreciate stuff like that.

I believe my daughter mentioned she travelled to Ilfracombe from Swansea..I will have to check that one out Probably on the Waverley.
The Waverley passing Ilfracombe - the steamers from Swansea and Bristol had to 'breast up' in the harbour entrance.

Whilst pondering world issues last night i came up with a great idea. Countries like Africa that need investment should have solar farms built by the countries who need the power in winter, uk for example, then they put lovely long power cables in the sea bed that bring all that power to the uk when we need it, we then pay these African solar famers for the power, they get cash for more cows and flip flops and we get electric to power all our shit in the winter. I might run for the UN head job. No holes to be picked on this so don't try. sound plan ...... all we will need for it to work is everyone working together for the good of all.....

Lots rain here but the water has drained away fairly rapidly
course having that vast expanse of blue stuff just down the road does aid drainage

Nippy morning..... Lovely walk with Freya through the park, she had her normal wade in the water Builders rocked up to re measure the area to be enclosed They then collected wood and the dippy so n so's put it all over the gate so that my inwards opening gates couldn't open. Need to use car so I've had to drag all these heavy lengths out of the way. Shouldn't have tackled that.... I will never learn(think those words together with 'She never quite got it right') should go on my grave stone.....

I've got the grand daughter in Brum a construction kit just to keep her dad busy on Christmas Day... saw it and just couldn't resist Meanwhile down here Iggy n I will be building 2 small fighting robots...... .. I was gonna get him Mechano as I always wanted that when I was young but its really for age 8 onwards and he's only 4..... Thats what kids need nowadays, things to think about not bloody playing games on telly and on there phones all the time. I given up on mine, well the eldest who is now 11. few years back i got all the gear to build him a bogey which he said he would like. As soon as he knew he would have to get his hands dirty he lost interest. he is a marde arse though now I will not have 'games' for TV, computer or phone... when here its stuff I know about. Got a few board games, jigsaws, toy cars etc. We go out and he swings on the dogs lead attached to a branch of a tree whilst I 'sing'(very badly) the theme to Indiana Jones....suspect that will become 'embarrassing' for him...or maybe not.

Late to this discussion.... fell asleep early last night.. We have 2 local bakers who bake their own ..no additives etc.. I really like their granary, however grandson will only eat the white so if he comes we have that..however its quite a decent loaf. They make sourdough, overnight(whatever that is) white, rye etc etc. Rarely have to get any from the supermarket ..I do also occasionally make my own which is a no knead quite dense seeded loaf... son introduced that one here. As for beer.. yuck. Though I did quite like a craft beer I tried at eldest sons but dunno what it was.. The local shop here always runs out of Times.. I like to read one maybe twice a week(takes me about 3 days to wade through a copy)
