I miss my old 6 disc changer and wallets full of CDs I have never loaded a MP3 thingy wouldn't know how..I still have CDs ..lots of and I CD player..never down loaded a tune in my life ..nowt on my I phone or puter... With DVDS if I don't own the film don't watch it Im a simple soul I spent weeks ripping my CD collection onto a computer and then tucked them away in the loft, I listen to the same stuff in the car (one has an SD card reader both have usb or Bluetooth) for the last 4 years - haven't the will to bugger about doing it again. The Alfa has DAB which means a huge amount of choice without having to listen to the same stuff over and over. I am a reluctant user of modern technology, not by choice at all

I'm with you Patty. Writing this using my tablet is the limit of my technical know how.
A mate bought a computer thingy, and all his books are on the one thingy now. He's a live aboard, so it does save space. But I really like the look, feel and even smell of books, so sod it, I'm staying with them.
On the plus side, he got rid of his complete collection of 'Sharpe' books. I had never read any, but love history, so took them off him. Read them all and very much enjoyed them too.

I had the idea it would be fun to collect some fallen wood from the woods beside the canal at Christmas, saw it up neatly and leave it to dry until March. For our stove. The Witch got in a tizz and says you can't do that it's illegal. How terribly 'illegal' is it? Haven't had the time to do this before, and I sort of look at it as tidying up the forest a bit.

They do take up space, but on the boat this forces me to keep the collection moving. Read it, pass it on and get new ones. Rog

Rog Not sure but if anyone nicked wood from my land (I don't own any - I hate land) I would be mighty upset and I suspect it should be theft) Eta don't know why the word "problem" dissapeared from the quote text. Bit odd. I love problems.

I was up at 2am (again) reading about high pressure briquetting techniques for producing slow burning solid fuel products. Fro the information I gathered I think that a mixture of shit AND books would probably be ideal

I have a whole load of books in our storeroom on all kinds of subjects. I thought to keep them but the years pass and they are getting older and older. If there's anyone here looking for something, a particular book or a theme, let me know here and I'll see if I've got it.
