Thinking about it i would be far from impressed if they did that. Suffering from Photophobia is not easy at times. Bad enough with cars and headlights lights set wrong or on full beam whe not needed, who are 'they'? - I presume you mean the restaurant boat who made everyone in the vicinity suffer from 'photophobia' through their own selfishness, acting like they own the river at that time of night. In your story the restaurant boat but in any case it stands the same. You seem very upset still over it. Shit happens as tonight while i was walking Zig a prat on a bike was on the foot path and had a very bright light on his bike and was coming towards us. He rang his bell for us to move, i am not likely to as the idiot should of been on the road. I am over it.

Aiming a bright light directly into someone's eyes near water is probably one of the more idiotic things I've read on here. You ought to be ashamed of yourself - both for doing it and then boasting on here about it. Tomsk has a suitable word he often uses. bollox. everyone in the area had already been blinded by the buggers' lights, at a time when many were settling down to sleep. oh, sorry ... I should turn the other cheek. I'll say it again - bollox. and by the way, stating the facts does not represent boasting. out of interest, how would you retaliate under the same circumstances? I wouldn't, you were moored up not traveling. You were and still are being a twat. Life's too short. BTW, how are you getting on with your crusade against those that feed bread to ducks?

So were you = fuck all problem if you are not a miserable old twat. faffer, I take it all back, feel free to use your floodlights to maximum advantage whenever you moor up at 11pm adjacent to several sleeping boats, lighting up their interiors as bright as daylight, and don't co-operate when they ask you to switch your lights off. if you get any complaints refer the miserable old twats to Gazza.

11pm? Really? You made it sound like an all night rave.
Still, I guess a double dose of Horlicks and some blindfolds would help next time.

Not at all - it's a school night and some of us have to go to work to pay for you pensioners and the peaceful idol you crave Im afraid You come across as a typical retired wealthy narrow boat owner who thinks they are king of the cut.

Many is the time i've got up at 3am or there abouts to assist the boat or boats next to us leave a mooring in order to catch the tide, But then Rafting up is very common on the lumpy water but on the canal, dont dare moor alongside unless youve notified the other boater 3 months in advance and in triplicate...and dont you dare cross my deck!

Wrong again. I hate sewer tubes. You really should learn to stop making assumptions. ................ and if being king of the cut involves complaining when a moored up trip boat disturbs the night with unnecessary floodlighting of all around it, then so be it. If I did have a sewer tube I would moor next to you and run my engine all night to charge my batteries, 'cos obviously you are a tolerant and nice person who wouldn't mind at all. on second thoughts - you weren't there, you don't understand the circumstances, so mind your own business.
