Nothing wrong with it but I thought links were usually shortened automatically. (Another it muppet BTW) I get by, often I don't really know what I'm doing (or have done for that matter!) Occasionally my patience reaches breaking point and I'm ready to smash whatever electronic kit isbt playing ball. I don't enjoy it one bit, much more at home nailing metal together I've cut IT dependence down to only ever using my phone for internet shit. Its not a new phone but at least its touchy feely one which makes it easy to use . I do have an ancient laptop but only use that for DVDs for the kids (no telly). I have resisted the lure of a tablet. I am a bit addicted to the bloody phone though

I have 4 of these on the boat for working in the dark, and got 2 on the motorbike as extra illumination. Absolutely spot on, can be found for a bit less on ebay from time to time - I paid £23 for 10.

They are good lights (I have one - just one) but I don't want to meet you coming the other way if you are running several of these unless you have some sort of screen to drop over the lights. I did see someone coming past the mooring a while ago with this sort of light. Think it was an old dutch barge. Much too bright really for navigating where there may be other boat users, walkers etc
Years ago I found some old film set lights in a skip. 4x500w filament bulbs on individual flexible stems with a pistol grip handle. That was bright !!!

It would be pointless really to point them ahead to the point it would blind an oncoming boater the usable light doesn't travel that far so all they'd be doing is pissing people off! only 2 of mine are on whilst cruising and that's the ones pointed out about 45 deg at the banks. The others are just for working on the towpath or winching trees out of the canal.

Im afraid You come across as a typical retired wealthy narrow boat owner who thinks they are king of the cut. This is one thing i've never understood about canal boaters. Many is the time i've got up at 3am or there abouts to assist the boat or boats next to us leave a mooring in order to catch the tide, But then Rafting up is very common on the lumpy water but on the canal, dont dare moor alongside unless youve notified the other boater 3 months in advance and in triplicate...and dont you dare cross my deck! You didn't even mention sharing mooring rings :-)

Only thing is the numbers don't work out. advertised as 18 watts but made from 4X3 watt LEDs, current draw 10 amps, are they 12 or 24 volt or is that nominal, ie. 28 volts + for when the battery is charging?
