I have met Tim a couple of times and he his actually an OK guy.
Like many people from Yorkshire he speaks his mind and tells it like it is. The problem is some people don't like straight talkers.

Thought so. A remarkable turnaround in this week of turnarounds.
(I have given up trying to quote)

roland al (who he?): "From what I've seen, newbies are treated much more friendlier there than here. I felt like I was being bullied like a new starter at primary school here."
Yes, this is the place where, if you're on our boat having tea and scones, it's OK to use our loo. You don't have to cross your legs and hold it in until you get back to your own boat, or those disgusting bogs at the pub. I'm not sure there are any nasty people at all on Thunderboat. Jenlyn can be a bit spiteful, but he said 'thanks' when passing people on the towpath whilst on his bike.

On the other hand:
tomsk: "The thread you reference was indeed moronic, started by Thunderboats most pointless and prolific poster."
How many of your 'twats' were non-pointless?
You've lost your plus points from me (again).

Some of my extended family are from Yorkshire. I've noticed they are fine until they leave Yorkshire. I hate Yorkshire myself, it's bloody depressing.

The problem I have found with a lot of straight talkers is that they are fine so long as they are doing the talking. It is the listening bit and trying to see others point of view they appear to struggle with.

Now this sent me scurrying over to cwdf to find the post in question. Now didn't Timbo see his arse a while back and stop posting on cwdf leaving a message on his profile regeristing his dissatisfaction about receiving a warning, iirc from "some child" or words to that effect, presumably about his postings? I may be wrong, one or two members over there morph into one, but fairly sure I am right. Yes, he was trying to get me to meet up with him for a fight. I added a mod to the conversation which resulted in him getting a short ban. He got a strop on about it and didn't post for a year or so. The guy is a first class bellend.

I have a couple of Yorkshire mates that I had to throw out at 4am because they were so busy shouting over each other I couldn't get a word in. On the other hand, again 1st hand, it's no joke... Yorkshireman opening up to best Yorkshire mate "I'm going to kill myself". Yorkshire best mate "Fuck off - not you. Pint?". End of convo.

Grapes and slivers of Crackerwheat.......thats the only way to counteract the disturbing effects of strong cheese As the lunatic is raging again... Where were the grapes from? Any decent 80's beefeater would plonk some grapes and slices of apple on your plate when you ordered the cheese board as a desert

Could this be because on the internet, there is no listening (unless you are on Skype)? Now if you'd said "reading", I might agree.

I think its easy to just hit 'post' without considering impact of words and straight talkers can come over as rather abrupt.. I'm a waffler... I also have a habit of not reading what is written and responding to what I think has been written..
