To fully comply, a long blast must be four seconds, a short blast one second or thereabouts! This might make all the difference if you colide with a boat and it goes to court. The very reason that I've always used the correct signal even though I know that the majority don't have a clue as to their meaning (more's the pity) Phil But I believe you are a proper big boat, on working waterways. We're just dragging our play boats around muddy ditches. To be honest I try to never use the horn. If you're very careful, you don't need to. Too many, in my view use the horn to mean "stand back I'm coming through" rather than warn of their presence. And as I mentioned earlier, very many just seem to use the horn like they've just unwrapped it. Rog

Rog I've got the Horn marinestore.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PL16183&Category_Code=foghorns&Store_Code=mrst&gclid=CJqJkI70pdICFUWeGwodJaQOEQOnly use it at Briggate bend in Whittlesey. It's quite good, pretty loud with a good lung full of air going through it. It's cordless and eco friendly. The dwarf will no doubt want to play with it this year though.

I've got a brass horn off a vintage car, with a rubber bulb. It just seems more polite if I wish to attract someone's attention than the electric one. And kids love my horn Rog

I had a klaxon for a while, wonderful sound, but it kept seizing up with damp. Now got high and low note car horns, nice tone.

Along with the lifejacket whistle. ☺ Phil Oh the lifejacket whistle She started on that back end of last year. I can vividly remember my granddad going nuts at my brother's and I for blowing the damn thing! They are not very good though, a kids lungs can't get a good and loud sound out of em standing in the cockpit, a tiny peep is about all they'd manage in cold water. I'm convinced the manufacturers fit em just to piss parents and grandparents off

I've got these two; smaller one fits in pocket in case electric horn fails. hhttp://www.marinesuperstore.com/signalling/horns-whistles/plastimo-trump-horn?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=pcn&utm_term=09567&utm_campaign=MSS&gclid=CjwKEAiArbrFBRDL4Oiz97GP2nISJAAmJMFaClk_L6wCFBKvYCVfGeXjABaQYtm6szq9K-sareu6ChoCDNbw_wcB
You don't get both for £12 unfortunately. VERY LOUD.

Have you been researching battery chargers by any chance? yes, why? You posted a link for a ring automotive battery charger that doesn't look much like a horn, nor will it fit in the average sized pocket.
