Ninety years ago in March and April Yarwoods of Northwich delivered the first five Steel Rivetted Leeds & Liverpool Short Boats (A 36 to A 40) for British Isles Transport Co. Ltd.,part of Joseph Rank Flour Millers to deliver North American Grain from Birkenhead Docks to their Mills in Blackburn.Two more (A 41 & A 42) were delivered in November and December. My Fine Art Painter friend has created jn colour pictures of how these boats looked when new. postimg.cc/G9r9kr7c

Oh it did, what struck me was the sweet fresh smell. Not all LnL SBs are like that.
