If he is, . . and the boats were taken by C&RT under its S.8 powers from that private wharf -- which I believe is one of those along, I think, Mill Lane, . . he'll be aware they've both been taken illegally. Are you going to advise him, as his legal team? It may have been non payment of licence rather than mooring fee, they would have been floating wholely on CRT water. Do you want to pursue an argument over the "ownership" of water ? It wouldn't be relevant to any of this, . . because C&RT don't "own" any water. Nobody, other than God himself, 'owns' water. For the time being C&RT exercise some forms of statutory 'control' over some parts of the beds of some natural rivers and man-made canals --- and THAT is ALL !

I agree you should have been able to purchase a river registration certificate or whatever it's called, vat free. You could have pursued that but you threw the rottweiler a juicy bone of the bsc, yes I've heard your arguements about that, you may have been right, but it gave them a lever against you. You'd argue how many angels fit on the head of a pin, you'll find that out soon enough, being closer to meeting them🤣🤣🤣🤣. If they let you in, daresay you'll find summat to argue about at the pearly gates.

If they let you in, daresay you'll find summat to argue about at the pearly gates. "It" gave C&RT, and its dishonest lawyers, a false sense of security, . . in that they fooled themselves into believing that they could continue to get away with committing both criminal offences and civil wrongs under the pretence of exercising some very limited and clearly defined statutory powers that enabled, and LIMITED, the C&RT to simply 'removing' from a given location on a waterway under its control, sunk stranded or abandoned boats, or boats that were "left or moored [therein] without lawful authority". You really should be more careful about quoting, or believing, some of the mindless tripe and conjecture that you read on the internet. You may well discover that you were partially responsible for originating some of it !

It's a shame we don't have a local hero/spy to go and check out Greenwalls farm.
Those two short boats would stick out like sore thumbs specially now the leaves are down.

The current location is of no immediate importance. The precise circumstances under which both boats were removed from Burscough, by whom, and why, would be very useful to know, . . as would some contact details for the owners.

The boat pictured is ex British Isles Transport Co. Ltd., subsiduary of Joseph Rank Flour Millers built by Yarwood's of Northwich in 1933. This is A 39 one of the fleet of seven built to carry North American Grain from Birkenhead on the River Mersey to Blackburn on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

I did think it was A39. Last time I saw it the boat was at 4all marine opposite Laleham on Thames.
There was someone on canalworld who said it would be a cruising vessel. I've not seen it this year (or last year!) but not been down that far for ages.
The cabin is very similar, a wooden cabin I wonder if it's actually the same one as shown in the picture.
Gardner 2LW still present and working.

I know its a couple more of Ambush but could well be the old girls last trip, Derek is seriously thinking of stopping the monthly diesel / coal / gas runs and doing them by van instead! 🙁

I am the owner of A39, I have been using it as a causing vessel since summer last year, obviously not as much during winter, has been to Oxford and back last summer. The timber structure is not the one pictured as Peace, but is original from its conversion into a restaurant after being a passenger vessel. I will add pictures once it's a bit further along, alot has been done so far. And still has the 2lw running nicely.

I have been up north on the boat though. You need an imaging hosting site to upload images to. I use post images.org but there are others available.
