Sending someone incapable due to physique makes it clear their only interest was to tick a box and keep your subs. That's rip off Britain for you. I wonder if its in their job description to nip to the shops to get some beer? If they can't sort the boat problem get them to sort the shopping problem !

RCR have given us back the credit for the breakdown and CRT have given us a bollocking for draining the pound, but we're good to go.

Good job sir! Just been to Todmorden to check my boat out, 2 boats arrived from Manchester. Was chatting about your predicament, guess what, the same mattress had got him, he manages to cut it free with long handled bolt croppers, but it sank, too big for him to retrieve. He was also stopped by other crap. I did email Rcr, as a concerned member. Though I hope they would have offered you the credit anyway. And thanks to Foxy for volunteering me! Unfortunately I've had work for the past 2 days, today getting ready for a job tomorrow. I'll keep an eye out for you.

The first time I came up from Manchester we had a BW crew of 3 accompanying us, travelling in a van. Bunch of chocolate teapots. They didn't know what to do when we came to a low pound. Said we couldn't let water down. I went off on my bike "to the shops" and let water down myself.

May be the left side of CRT don't talk to the right side...

Foxy I think there might be some news other than "boater gets mattress round prop." I might be wrong nothing else could have happened these last two days in Rochdale or Manchester but I don't think so somehow.

Today's Manchester Evening News:
"The woman who broke a young child's arm because she'd fallen out with her boyfriend."
"Getting around Manchester is going to be a total nightmare this weekend (unless you're running, of course!)"
"My weird periods turned out to be a sign I had cancer."
"How a woman who ate nothing but chicken nuggets was cured."
"Greater Manchester restaurant gets Guardian review."
"Bras for £1! First look at the new Poundland bargain clothing range."
Yes, kris, you're right, much more important things going on than: "Rochdale Canal shame of the North".

There's an engineer coming, but he's on another job, CRT say if he's not here in the next 15 minutes or so that they are going to run water down and bow-haul us up through the next lock and into the pound there which is a very short pound which we can empty when the engineer does arrive. "which we can empty" - so, CRT did give you permission to empty the pound? How can they then give you a bollocking? Especially as this is their fault for not dredging the canal - look at it, what a shitty mess. And "credit back" from RCR - they should have given a year's free subscription and an apology. Did you write to them Jim? And what did they reply? As for those newspapers, Manchester Evening News & Rochdale Chronical - no manners. Not a reply from either. Poor show. Do keep up, on the back row, yes I emailed them, see 4 posts back from yours! 😂😂😂 I expressed concern, as a fellow member, about the way it was dealt with, used "he was to large to fit down the weed hatch" polite euphemism for a fat bastard😂😂 and that he lost 2 hours credit for 20mins doing nowt. Also said it was being discussed on internet forum.
