That depends whether you know what the motive is. Simple works for the majority, that's why short people invented complicated. Well explore that then In what way can developing the waterways in that fashion benefit the top management of CRT ? They can hardly empire build when their finances indicate that a contraction is necessary? Financial? the eradication of boats without home moorings might make their life simpler but won't make their pay increase. Looking good for advancement, possibly but antagonising a large group of people risks backfiring badly. I cannot see any logical reason that CRT would take the course you have described as a result I stick by the maxim that the simplest answer is probably the right one lack of adequate managerial control at the top What course is it I'm supposed to have described, or subscribed to...even? Just so I know what I'm supposed to answer to...

Never underestimate the length an ideologue will go to in order to get their agenda of austerity implemented. You'd be amazed at how far "pay-to-play" right wingers with an austerity agenda have infiltrated all ranks of government here. Much of their agenda is to either privatize or destroy from within with budgetary constraints. Sound familiar? Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean no one is watching you.

Well I for one am tired of all this. Jenlyin, or whatever you're called, I don't live in an alcoholic haze, or whatever it was you said of me. That's just the way I portray myself to CWDF (and now here), for a comedy value. I also agree with you in that I often don't know much about the subject of the thread, or indeed anything other than aviation or sailing! But I'm HAPPEEEEEEE ha ha. Remind me not to join threads that you're in!! Well let's look at what you have said shall we? "1" I don't live in an alcoholic haze "2" That's just the way I portray myself to CWDF "3" Hi guys! Just back from the Mucky Duck What was it you were saying?

Scared and intimidated boaters doth not a case make.I genuinely don't believe that refusing an authorised overstay is the wide scale problem some make it out to be . I dont know whos said it is, i certainly havent. I only know of one case, however the number is irrelevant, what is important is that CRT do not set up procedures that are beyond the powers granted to them by the legislation. Which in the case of "authorising" overstays is totally ultra vires.

Well if you know of only one case then can i ask again do you think there is a problem with CRT refusing boaters an overstay? because I and others have said from the outset we don't believe there is. I think you are on an anti CRT agenda and I personally have no problem with that,in fact I encourage it.The problem is you never seem to be able to back up your agenda with times places and boaters along with the incident concerned so I end up shaking my head. I here you say before that you don't support the NBTA and with your outlook I find that strange too.Your an Agent Provocateur nothing more. The number of boaters is relevant and you can't produce any,you have simply picked on the word " authorise "and constructed a narrative around your misunderstanding what that word means in the context of authorising an overstay.

For those more interested in my pub orienteering earlier, I went to the Mucky Duck at about 1330, with Mrs Loafer and the dog. At 1700 we hosted a small bbq for six outside our boat.
Some of my other posts might contain strange times like 'just got back from the Duck' at nine-ish.
Jenlyn (you know who you are), it's just FUN! Ho hoooooooooooo

I just don't really agree with yours. But NONE of it is really important.

I'm beginning to realise how difficult it is to for people who have been trained to accept authrority unquestioningly, to accept that not all authrority is right. That it needs examining and questioning to keep it in check. I'm starting to feel sorry for people like this. I have doubts if they can ever break out of that mindset. Which is a shame because Crt are trying to pull this lifestyle out from under our feet. If enough people don't realise this, living on the waterways on a boat will be a memory.
