I just signed a petition against the crimes in Chechnya (Change.org), where they're hunting homosexuals, and do the most crual things you can think of with them.
They've killed some of the poor victims, but it's hard to know how many because the relatives are too worried to tell anyone about it, as they'll risk punishment too.

What a world we live in !

If it's of any interest, I get a newsletter from here : allout.org/en/#storyTruly horrific stuff on a daily basis I'm afraid. THANK the lord for the liberty WE have . Easy to take for granted but the envy of many.

"under control of the ruthless head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov" Ramzan Kadyrov - not come out of the closet yet?

Bumped as Foxy mentioned this thread had gone quiet.
Do you really expect anyone from here to take on the world's nasty people other than through a petition?...
I visited the are to climb a mountain many years ago, vast majority of the locals were very kind, but I do remember shouting at an idiot who had found an old 'armament' in the ruins of Pruitt 11 hut. I got called many names that day after I told him to put it down much with references to Homo.
Point of posting is to point out that (based upon my experience) many people in the area just want to get on with their peaceful life.
I was lucky enough to visit a very interesting area of the world and share a few drinks with some locals, please don't tarnish everyone from the area by what you read.

please don't tarnish everyone from the area by what you read. If Foxy adopted that way of thinking he would have nothing to post about ever again!π

I guess Foxy posting the random stuff he does opens eyes to events in the world. I, for one do not seek out all these random facts...I'm not sure though if it educates me or causes anxiety...do I need to know all the awful stuff? I just dunno really whether my head in the sand 'norm' is right or not. What I cannot change do I need to be aware of?
Ive had another thought..is it right to not want to know?...life has dealt me shit...real shit...not the terrible stuff Foxy posts but bad enough that I hid under chairs in the dark in abject fear that 'stuff' would get me...Ive gone through that and now life is sorta good...is it OK not to want to know or feel the pain of others?..I feel kinda guilty for wanting to enjoy what I now have.

"In 2006 Kadyrov started to create laws he says are more suitable to Chechnya's Islamic heritage β banning alcohol and gambling on January 20, and enforcing women's use of headscarvesβin defiance of Russia's secular constitution. He also publicly spoke in favor of polygamy on January 13, and declared that lessons in the Koran and Sharia should be obligatory at Chechen schools. On February 11, Ramzan criticized the republican media for broadcasting immoral programmes and officially introduced censorship in Chechnya. Because of the cartoon scandal that shook the whole Muslim world, Kadyrov issued a brief ban on the Danish Refugee Council, the most active humanitarian organization in Caucasus. On June 1, 2006, Moscow-backed Chechen President Alu Alkhanov said he would prefer his republic be governed by Sharia law and suggested adapting the Islamic code" Blimey - why hasn't this bloke gotten himself onto Birmingham's City Council? Sounds like a bit of a bully boy. But, who is going to go over and 'give him one'? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_ChechnyaSounds like a nasty piece of work. So much so, I'm quite sure our gay friends on here wouldn't want to go over and give him one. Mind you, polygamy, not too much wrong with that, more natural than marriage, possibly?

Rightly or wrongly, Chechens have a reputation throughout the rest of the CIS as being a savage, primitive and violent race of people.

For that reason I don't seek out this sort of stuff either.
