Hmm...well I'm guessing you are taking the piss. Lol.. Any thoughts? Other than i dont subscribe to your theory, particularly ' the punishment by dark forces bit' no. So what is your view if you don't subscribe to my theory? I can be convinced by a good argument. That's why I put my thoughts out there. Whether 'dark forces' are real or just spin, it still adds to the fear of stepping out of line. I suppose that may be an improvent over time than public executions.

People in this country have far greater freedoms to 'step out of line' than they do in lots of others, yes there are rules and parameters but in general we are quite a liberal society and I just don't see things as you do.

I doubt many do...

No need for hysteria...not "a block of flats", an apartment complex.. no injuries reported

Maybe an opportunity to do a 'roll call', compare those living in the flats with the list of tenancy agreements. Anyone who was living there under an illegal sub tenancy agreement could be directed towards the local authority, for housing by legal means. Same authority could prosecute tenancy holders not living there for housing fraud. Anyone without the legal status to live in Britain could be held pending deportation. What's not to like?

Zero successes out of 20 attempts is, it has to be said, a pretty piss poor effort. As for the drug and alcohol dependency, we're led to believe that those who have taken up these habits only did so after the fire, but is this so?

I can't help looking at these kind of reports with a cynical eye.
My parents generation had a world war to go through, my generation was also used to "just get on with it" I am very unsure how muchof this "support organisation" is needed and actually effective

My parents generation had a world war to go through, my generation was also used to "just get on with it" What caused the turning point where the 'just get on with it' attitude was overrun by the 'there there' ' it's not you fault, fluffy bunny' brigade? As you say John...the last couple of generations have had a far worse time yet coped without being 'signed off' with stress / allocated their own personal counsellor!

My thoughts are that it has much to do with how isolated we have become from death. I once went on an Operation Raleigh Exped, not sure whether it was Prince Charles or the Duke who was patron, but these words that were spoken at the time still live with me (along with a couple of lifelong friends from the trip).
'Some people need the challenges of war during peacetime' not sure if that is the exact quote.
Even after that I can hardly hold myself up as an example of someone who coped with whatever life chucked at him.
Edit to add - Perhaps we need a couple of wars to sort ourselves out.
