We left MK on Tuesday and cruised down to Leighton Buzzard, and then today down to Ivanhoe locks. We were planning on getting to Marsworth Locks today, but by 2:30 it was just too hot for me so we found some nice armco and moored up. We're in the middle of nowhere, nice wide mowed grass verge between the tow path and the hedge of trees, not a sound other than the odd chirping bird, no cars, roads or trains within ear shot; only seen 1 bicycle since we've been here and a couple of people out walking their dogs. Life couldn't get much better than this. What a brilliant day for a cruise, and I guess I was more excited than I would normally be as it was the first time we've gone for a proper cruise since I was released from the hosiptal. Still can't get on & off the boat without using the ramp the hosiptal organized for us, which means Dave has to get off and do all the locks, all I have to do is engage the engine, hold onto the tiller and steer in and out of the locks....oh woois me I hope everyone else got to enjoy the wonderful weather we had today as well.

Similar here - listening to a blackbird whilst eating tuna, salad & new potatoes with Thousand Island salad cream. Candle on table, Camping Gaz lantern on back deck. Crewe to Warrington Bank Quay trains in the distance. A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to brush our teeth with. A wisp of birch smoke out the chimney.

A lovely bit of the cut. I haven't been past Watford for about 10 years but prior to that spent a lot of time cruising around that area. Must get back up there as I really do like it Not that keen on MK - targets turn was the preferred stop then straight through to Stoke Hammond or 3 locks.

See that's what I get for not checking the spelling and just going with my gut instint No, we've stayed put, it's so pleasent here, we are moored between the first and second Ivinghoe locks on the short pound. I really can't put my finger on it, but I think this is the best mooring spot we've had in a very long time. Maybe it's just the weather, I don't know, but if there was a decent sized shop within a couple of miles bike ride I'd say this was a "perfect" mooring IMO of course...mind you I think it would be pretty bleak in the winter months

Funny enough, I thought of you today as we passed a bunch of moored boats and there was a gentleman hanging out of his side hatch dropping a sea magnet in the cut, I asked what he had lost and he said he was just seeing what he could find

Rog We must have just missed each other, we carried on down to the Aylesbury arm and winded there and turned back north, Dave needs to be in MK by Monday. So we are moored again inbetween the "Ivinghoe" locks and will move on to Leighton Buzz tomorrow and then up to MK on Sun - Dave would have loved to stay and see the steam rally ... we took the wrong week off Sorry we missed you - hope to catch up with you another time

Oopsie! Were you the even nicer CANADIAN lady We came off the Aylesbury as you winded, and followed you to the bottom two Marsworth locks. Jane helped your partner (Dave I believe) do the top lock. I worked the bottom lock and told you that you were not allowed to leave Dave behind. Dave pointed out the flowers on our roof to you. Fancy meeting you and not knowing. Rog

Fancy meeting you and not knowing. We did that with TellyMackus, just as well really because I'm sure that being a thicko I would have pronounced his name all wrong like.

I always thought Canadians were wannabee Americans but weren't allowed to cross the border?
