I wonder if he has a wood mounting? Any engine mounted directly on metal is going to transfer vibration more. I don't really care, I just think it's quite amusing. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person. I find this post distasteful.

I thought this thread was going to be about the Kelvin K1. who mentioned Kevin? is he one of your MI6 piss-artists? The cwdf member "MtB" apparently has or had a Kelvin K1. A very rare and rather impressive petrol/diesel engine. Nothing to do with my MI6 work. You seem to be very interested in this - be careful as MI6 know everything and don't like people asking too many questions.

tomsk has crept out of the crypt... ............... crapt and crept back in again. We have decided to give the Clitheroe sheep auction a miss as it's bucketing down across Pendle territory, and are staying warm with birch logs a-glow in the stove. Toast with peanut butter and coffee...

The price of micks old engine does seem a little optimistic. I know it's rare and looks nice, but it's got a seized bearing "somewhere" which doesn't sound cheap to sort out.

So he spent £3500 having it rebuilt and a bearing seized. Call me mr awkward, but the builder has cocked up surely?
Perhaps to talk him into doing the work mtb agreed he wouldn't hold the builder responsible and accepted there would be no come back. But still, a seized bearing must be a builder's cock up to some degree. Shit happens but warranty or not, if I were the builder I'd want to know what had happened. It's educational and wouldn't take so long to strip and rebuild a second time.

is this really mr stabby speaking? Or has your account been hacked? But I never relish harm happening to another forum member, no matter how objectionable he is. For example there is one Thunderboat member in particular who I consider to be a mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, shit-eating cretin. It would be unfair to reveal who this member is, but I have never once expressed a wish that the wheels might fall off of his caravan. I would like to think I would feel equally charitable had I ever read on cwdf that the wheels had come off a 'particular member's lorry however I doubt in truth I would. I would have more likely just pissed myself laughing.

But you would think, if it's been rebuilt badly then the rebuilder would have to take responsibility. But they might not have rebuilt it fully, they don't seem to know which bearing is seized.

It's probable that the builder has his suspicions but to let on is tantamount to admitting he didn't do his job thoroughly. Maybe he also hopes the buyer will pay again, there can't be that many people willing to take it on? Any idea how much would it be worth in good working order Kris?

I suppose it's the same as most rare things, it's worth as much as someone will pay. One things for shure you wouldn't take out an engine you had spent so much money on, unless there are serious problems.
