A court won't be able to decide it. CRT can clearly charge for a facility. They just have to convince all and sundry that providing the ability to moor in a busy location, i.e. a 48 hr mooring, is a facility they provide. CRT have done this, with help from nabo, IWA, and the NAG group. There is no going back. The only option now, is for boaters to stop any more being developed, which of course won't happen. I think you have been right in all that you have said,as regarding CRT and their ability to charge for facilities, I suspect that wouldn't be a hard case for them to make.I had hoped that the NBTA would come up with some proposals regarding the future of the canals and the boaters that live on and use them,I believe this will become necessary sooner rather than later if they are to be treated seriously.

This is the basis behind the slow but sure setting up for charging for overstaying, signs are changing to x " days free mooring" , and patrol notice forms have a section for charges now, so who agrees that a VM is a genuine facility, and who doesn't ? Why does it matter ? Because by law CRT can only charge for "services and facilities" . And if you don't agree, at some point it will have to go before a court to decide. Because if a VM can be a facility then literally every other piece of canal infrastructure can be, and can be charged for in future., boating could get very expensive in the future if a facility has no facilities. it's about charging people like yourself that feel it's ok to abandon near derelict craft on Fenny Stratford VM for weeks on end feigning engine trouble and inconveniencing your fellow boaters Except none of that has ever happened.

I just said "none" of that happened. Of course it happened, you have been pulled up on it on the other channel as well.Get reading that famous thread of yours Enforcement in Milton Keynes, where you wouldn't name the Enforcement Officer because you had no bottle. If you can't find the thread I shall pop down and get the ex mooring warden at Fenny to put you right also. Save Wolverton Works, that was another lost cause of yours, your a collector of junk attempting to Game CRT nothing more.

You really don't understand about Nbta, it's a DIY organisation. You get involved and have an input to what happens. So rather than sitting back and waiting for them to come up with solutions. Why not go to a few meetings, not demos and put forward your ideas.

Now plenty say there is a CRT agenda but again most boaters dont see it. Now if the agenda comes out and boaters start having problems something will get done

Firstly I am not sitting back waiting on anyone coming up with solutions because thankfully I have no problems to solve, this being the de facto position of most boaters. You may be right in what you say about getting more involved and going to meetings as well as demos,I had hoped I could send a few quid and the Revolution would start without me,now you tell me its a DIY job ?

Anyone's boat in their photos? noproblem.org.uk/blog/I have met the couple on "No Problem" a few times, all these Bloggers are the same, they have retired early, bought a boat and set off to do the "system".Why they want to portray themselves as Vasco de Gama and tell the world about it,I can never understand.

I hope you understand that it is absolutely no good whatsoever to have everyone agreeing on a Forum such as this, lest we become a place for nodding donkeys like CWDF where everyone gangs up on the messenger.I would like to see you post more here on Thunderboat especially your boat experiences regarding restoration etc of Tadworth and the financial commitments involved and problems encountered.

Kris I really don't know,I really don't.Nothing stays the same and therefore some change is inevitable, I personally have doubts whether CRT have the gumption and intent to embark on some kind of ethnic cleansing policy and as regards lifting boats out of the water they have already lost case after case in London so you wonder where its going?I am pretty certain on two things, boats will have to move and we will see some charging, the rest I don't know and you haven't persuaded me.

I really don't care about persuading you, there's that egotistical streak again. It isn't all about you!
