Nothing major.
Whislt out on the kayak going down Southampton water with the nipper.
It was a quiet Sunday and there were no tankers at fawley refinery so I was only about 50 metres away from it.
The local lifeboat popped over and asked me to cross the channel to stay way from the moorings. I just listened and started to cross. My mistake. Next think I know the life boat was back and dragging us on board.
There was a big container coming down the channel.
He was very apologetic saying he should of looked as well. Vts were quick to radio them to save us.
Quite boring really bit exciting for nipper.

Worst thing that happened to me was when we broke down and had to moor on the towpath for a year pending fitting a new spark plug. You wouldn't believe the grief we got. So unfair! Oh no, that was just a dream. You sir are a bastard.. Well yes I know, but someone has to be. I am nothing if not dutiful!

Anyway, not been on this thread much. Lots of scary and dangerous things happened to me when flying, but on the cut... well I did manage to cill Zenobia (my mate chris'a boat) in Banbury. But that was more embrassing than scary. Especially as I bent the rudder.

Actually, thinking about it, the scariest thing I've ever done on my boat was the tidal Thames from Limehouse to Teddington. I'd do it again though.

I can't bothered Jim, because of all the insults I get, I can fight my corner alright but it gets boring. So I'm sorry there will be no updates from me. In all seriousness I'd be interested to know how it works out from a practical point of view. Sure, you'd get some grief and teasing but you get that anyway, so nothing to lose. As far as I'm aware, there hasn't been a "review" of composting lavatories on here or CWDF.

If anything it's proof that somebody has been accepted as "one of the lads" and can take a joke. If a more literal statement is required, then I can confirm that your composting toilet is totally non-malodorous. Feeling better now, diddums?

(hesitates to find the correct word ) ..... rubbish talked about composting loos often by people that don't have one. So far I have not met people who have used them and were totally against, although some had some reservations. Someone I spoke to (theirs was the type with the forced fan drying system) got rid of it mostly because of the noise ...... but I wonder how much of that was due to a bad instal'. someone mentioned the smell problem but that might be due to the requirement on a nb to keep the vent stack short. A lady I know who lives on a converted Humber barge on the Medway says she never has a smell problem ..... but her barge has incredible headroom (it even has a mezzanine where the roof is not much above hatch coaming height)

Don't they have to have heaters to dry it out?

I'm busy and have got more interesting things to do than spend my time arguing with gimps on here. Contrary to belive I don't like arguing, I just think the issues with crt are important enough to bother dealing with the crt appreciation society in the gimp suits. But anybody who is really interested can come and have a cup of tea whilst we have a chat about the benefits composting loos.(prior appointment only and theirs a door policy.)

Two Pakistani boys pointed a gun at us as we were leaving Burnley and shouted "Bang! Bang!" I was thinking of shoving our boat pole up both their arseholes, skewering them like a kebab. Not scary but worth a mention. I hope you reported that to the police..,
