Regardless its a sure fire (no pun intended) of ensuring a quick and clean death in the current climate. I think anybody (child or not) who waves anything 'gun like' around in public these days is seriously risking harm (and then of course there will be the outcry against the police for shooting them.)

Whilst locking down Deepcut flight about 20 years ago with two boats one 33ft the other 60ft sterns level, as you do, the bow of the 60ft boat slewed across the lock. Within seconds the boats were jammed tight in the lock and the counters were out of the water by 6-9 inches. Dropped the paddles and yelled at the steerers to get off the boats, my ex insited on getting the cat off as well once she realised what was wrong. We then slowly refilled the lock and carried on. For those that don't know Basingstoke locks are under 14ft so its tight at the best of times even with two modern boats
