The other expense is finding somewhere to live whilst he does it unless you go in your van...I'd have to doss with Finbarr!! ππ I have a camp site owner mate nearby who'll probably be able to find a corner somewhere to tuck the boy away and the camper's good enough for me.

Dave Payne's raised this topic on CWDF too.
He was enquiring about finding somewhere canal side to have his boat stretched.
I have often admired the steelwork of Roger Farrington at the bottom lock at Braunston. Fabulous hulls he makes, and he does a lot of stretches too.
No idea on costs, but no craning or transport costs would be involved, so that's a bonus.

I admire Kedian for being so upfront.

Rog And I see that 'expert at everything' patronising bellend MtB has added his typical horseshit reply! 'Does this Β£600 a foot include windows, interior fitting, extending the electrics, plumbing and heating, and painting the newly inserted bit of shell externally to match existing? ' πππ 1 reason I don't post there now for advice...it's full of expert gobshites!π I hasten to to add, a heating chap NHEC or something over there, was unbelievably helpful when I sought advice about my bubble / central heating installation last year... ten out of ten for that fella!! π

I have heard very positive reports about Kedian, and their work, from other boaters. The draw back is craning and lorry costs. Particularly putting a tug front on a boat, I'd want a good job more than a cheap job. Crikey, if you're not careful you could end up with something like a Hudson Rog

I don't think they do those, but rivets could be managed.

It also includes full board accommodation with free internet and bingo every evening while the works is done and a complimentary barrel of ale.

I'm just going to add 6 inches now to save the extra work - and the steelwork will be cheaper too. Win, win. π

About turn shocker! Another email from Kedian saying one of his chaps is leaving so he's decided he's not going to be doing ANY stretches or overplating in the future.
