Lord Fotheringham changed his electric light and killed himself, it served him right For it is the duty of the gentleman to provide employment for the artisan (as an aside the part "P" for domestic electric work is a f******g P*** take, If you don't have that specific qualification you can't be part "P" however highly qualified. As an example a friend of mine has the following letters after his name FIEE MBIP C.Eng .... in other words has high enough qualifications to be on the board that sets the regulations for electrical installations ...... but is not considered capable of doing his own electrical wiring without going and paying for the exam ..... stupid) Aint that the truth! mouse can teach Part P but cant practice - how mad is that?!

Sorry about that Patty, it will open when I click on it. Maybe there are some arcane restrictions that I am not privy to that have to be lifted in Google Photos.

Well done Gazza, I tried the post photo button and copied the googlephotos address into the address box, hit insert and the box buggered off into the wide blue yonder!
As the old expression has it, "It is enough to make you throw your bo##ocks at the clock"

This is the tale behind the Yamaha F4A.... A good while ago My friend asked me to have a look at his little Yam after it packed up on the way to the King's Head at Wadenhoe, at the time it was propelling 3 large blokes while attached to a pedalo 🤦♂️ International rescue (ok, my friend, the dwarf and I 🙈) towed them back to the club, the engine was slung in a container and largely ignored (at least by me 😂) - I got away with this for two years 🤫 ETA - it was 24/06/2017! Feeling a touch ashamed and guilty I decided it was time to sort it. The treacle like petrol was emptied out of the tank, a quick carb clean and she's ready to be tested. The opportunity didn't arise until a week last Sunday, Mrs Gazza had a whopper of a hangover following a boozy night at the club. I decided what better time to fart about with engines while she was recovering? First idea was to put it in a barrel and spark it up - that has limited appeal to a 5 and 6 year old, 30 seconds of revving it up and that's about the size of it. So instead we had a scout around for a not too knackered abandoned dinghy. One Newbourne Sniper 8 later and we are ready to see if it runs. A few pulls and its away. The kids loved it. The dwarf had a shot, I couldn't get her to sit back and face forward, she wasn't mad keen on being so close to the powerful beast! She did well though, only a few minor course corrections from me. Her friend had a shot at the helm too. Full load test - needed to sit well forward as the girls were not keen on it planing! Engine ran well, it pulled like a train and didn't miss a beat, it's currently having the impeller replaced along with a sump and gearcase of fresh oil. It has been abused somewhat, at some point being left in the water for a long period, one of the gearcase to leg bolts was perilously close to shearing - a bit of heat and love juice saved the day though! The water pump was partially blocked with scale and small freshwater mussle shells so welll due a bit of love. Only snag with messing about in boats means this is now in my back garden awaiting a few minor repairs. Along with our 6hp Evinrude that is getting a new impeller and a once over after a two year layup I have also been tasked with sorting a brace of bumper boat Suzuki Dt2.2 outboards. The fun never stops 🍻🔨🔨🔨👍

Chris used to go to work in a 21ft cabin cruiser but decided it was too big so I acquired a Newbourne Angler the same boat with different stickers and she used that for work. I thought her very brave mixing it with all the hire craft on the Broads, she can't swim so I bought her a self inflating round the neck like a scarf just in case. SHE REFUSED TO WEAR IT AS IT WAS BRIGHT YELLOW!! Phil

And now for something completely different. patty A minor compromise on the gardening front. In 9 years I have chased a mower to the boundaries and flatly refused to have any pots, borders .or baskets, little un is getting thoughts on having green fingers so I thought I had ought to do something so as not to pee on her parade! I still needed to be able to mow to the edge, I didn't want boring old hanging baskets so had to do some thinking. Here is what I came up with. I have never been keen on open end spanners, 9 from my odds and ends toolbox were selected to do the job - all quality Mad in Engerland ones too 🕵️ A bit more in keeping than boring old black scroll brackets! So what to hang on them? Cheap wire baskets? No! Expensive Rattan ones? Hell no! The answer? A pair of my old Motocross helmets and a fat ball feeder - this has been strategically located so Lucy can reach it to refill it and to prevent the neighborhood cats from having a free feathery lunch - same as the little bird table screwed to the shed. Tomorrow We will nip into B and M to get some compost and basket liners, we have some herbs that will go in the Hanging Helmets 👍

Love them... what a wonderful use for old spanners Ta! I will have a rummage for some more open end spanners this weekend - I am not keen on them, a combination spanner being far more useful. Watch this space

pattyI managed to find another 6 spanners at work, another pair all nailed together and just about ready to go. They will be ready for despatch on Monday - paint will not be dry enough to post today! If you would like them at the standard TB members rate (FOC postage included) PM me an address and they are yours 🔨🔨👍🍻
