Screwfix do a range of cobalt drill bits they look like a wood bit but they are the dogs doo dahs at cutting through steel of sorts! They really are a high speed drill though if they get snagged they snap, which is where the speed comes in

Gazza, have you used the DeWalt drill bits with the pilot drill tip ? Borrowed one while doing a job and was very impressed ..... been looking at a set but been gagging a bit at the price .... different when had company but hard to justify for DIY

Borrowed one while doing a job and was very impressed ..... been looking at a set but been gagging a bit at the price .... different when had company but hard to justify for DIY Not used the DeWalt stuff, these are our normal jobber drills www.orbitalfasteners.co.uk/en/products/dormer-25-piece-a002-drill-bit-set-1-00-13-00mm-0-5mm-increments-204-a095204Although we get ours from Cromwell Tools. TiN coated so work well on most materials - but not spanners π΅οΈ They are largely self centering meaning you don't often have to use a centre punch. Smaller diameter are a bugger to grind due to the small lip face - they go in the bin when blunt. I'm glad I don't pay for them!

The price of those is much the same as the DeWalt ones ....... sigh ........ suppose I will just have to open my wallet and say "help yourself"

All very exciting think I'll sort out all my old spanners..well dads if anyone wants them..Some are in the store and some here...shame I consigned some to scrap metal
Thats really cheered me up thanks Gazza...I needed cheering up... I've done something really rather stupid again...I wrote up all my short stories/ articles and random blog posts into a book and had some copies printed off. Intended for a few close friends who have always encouraged and supported my writing..family are fairly critical and its not for them. Anyway I order them, and inadvertently left Horror House address on the delivery(Ive done books with this firm before) . I have found out the books are at Horror House....some of the posts in the book are extremely revealing over Horror House..not really the sort of thing you'd want to read about your own house..... I'm sitting with large glass vino thinking ...S...!... Im not going to collect..Ive not got that much courage..have ask daughter....I think Im in trouble... Help.... I'm hearing my dads words echo...'Only you could do something like this'

The swing is proving useful π΅οΈ Freshly painted rollers for the dinghy launch trolley. They clip over the axle beam and are fully adjustable. The launch trolley is galvanised so I didn't want to hack it about too much. Bit more to do to it to get the Newbourne Sniper and my Jago inflatable to sit on it nicely - more on that at a later date.

Not the best of photos, south facing garden and a lack of time to do anything better meant what you see is what you get! Conclusion of the dual purpose launch trolley modifications. This is the setup for the Newbourne Sniper. I was getting fed up of teetering about with outboards while afloat - itβs doable but asking for a mishap π€¦πΌββοΈ I will set it up to tomorrow with the boat on the trolley and mark off the rollers at the height they need to be set to. This is the setup for the inflatable - a bunker type setup is much kinder to the tubes, boards are the composite plastic boards so wonβt rot. The plank at the front was treated to a coat of UV curing resin to keep the rot at bay. Out with my brother and his lad on both boats tomorrow after dragging a Viking up the slip ππ€
