Oscillating saw to remove old grout and a proper rubber grout float to put the new grout in. wipe off with microfibre cloth. Squeegee the shower walls when you've had a shower leaving the shower walls dry and open a window for half an hour. How many times have I had to say that to a feckless tenant whining about black / pink mould in a bathroom. The latest being this week to my grandaughter. You expect tenants to have an oscillating saw plus grout plus a 'proper rubber grout float' plus know what to do with them that many tradespeople don't seem to!
Glad I'm not one of your tenants!
Fecking fit an extractor fan and some heating you tight git!
And it's his grand daughter living there.

Oh dear, we are struggling today. No! I expect them to do the wiping down and a bit of anti mould spray so I don't have to do any regrouting. Black mould is always down to condensation. It needs heat or ventilation. I've fitted positive pressure ventilating fans in a couple of properties, they work a treat and the tenant has no choice in the matter.

A rare non boaty never ending job for me. i have come to the conclusion that regrouting and resealing an en-suite shower cubicle is about the most pants job imaginable - I think this is the third time in 10 1/2 years I’ve done it. only the first two course of tiles to grout and a 1200 enclosure to seal but by god it’s a tedious job - and as for the silicone that promises to be antibacterial? My fecking arse! still another job ticked off the to do list ✊🤪 Oscillating saw to remove old grout and a proper rubber grout float to put the new grout in. wipe off with microfibre cloth. Squeegee the shower walls when you've had a shower leaving the shower walls dry and open a window for half an hour. How many times have I had to say that to a feckless tenant whining about black / pink mould in a bathroom. The latest being this week to my grandaughter. We use a karcher window vac after every shower - the cubicle is pretty darn good for one that gets used every day. The lowest course of tiles always seems to suffer, despite being cleaned and dried every use, there was a bit of flakey loose stuff this time around. I have a grout attachment for my multi tool, I didn’t use it as it was as easy to use a hand grout rake for the little amount that needed doing. I use a screwfix card anD my nose picking finger to do small areas of touch in up the grout. Have you found the holly grail mastic that never goes manky? If so please do let us know!

This week my Bubble stove was burning a bit crap / rich, plus I ran it out of diesel🙄 so I used an ultrasonic cleaner yesterday to clean my burner pot with amazing results👍 Top pic is dirty coked up pot, bad burning due to air holes bloked with diesel coke after 6 weeks 24/7 use! After ultrasonic clean using distilled water, all holes clear and all burnt on coke gone...Its done afantastic job, pot is now almost as new ready for a cold January!

I'm going to do the tiling in the wet room over the next few days but when I looked at the price of ceramic tiles I decided to faux paint them on instead with the dregs from a few tins of paint I've got knocking around..

The photo below is all just paint on a plain wall, there is not one single tile in this pic. I'm sure I won't do it nearly as well but if I get it half as good I'll be happy.

Sod that - as much as I dislike tiling I’m willing to bet doing it properly would be less agro in the long run!
