How VERY RUDE, if you can't make your arguments without using such fowl language I'd suggest you keep your feelings/comments to yourself. I appreciate this is a non moderated forum, one of the things I quite like about it; but really? was there really a need to use such language? You've made yourself look like a complete Prat My dad always said if you couldn't participate in a disagreement without swearing, you were either showing you had a poor education or you are just to damn lazy to use it. I couldn't agee more!! I've shamefully used the same word on nasty Nick, so I won't gloat over your admonishment of dog. I'm pretty sure he will make a point of suggesting this to you. I must admit, I don't like using the word, and when I do, I've gone to far. My excuse is, Nick has an ambition to be one 😂 To be honest Steve, if I had read a post where you used that word I would have responded the same way to you. It's not who wrote it, it's the fact that it's a step to far in my books. As you know I'm not a goody two shoes, nor a delicate little flower; but I do have my limits, and he crossed it.

I would not presume to speak for Betty. Betty seems more than capable of making a valid point, and without the use of personal abuse. We all know this is an unmoderated forum, and that's why we enjoy it. However it always surprises me that someone calling out the mindless abuse, seems to ruffle more feathers than the actual bickering and name calling does. It certainly elicits more considered responses. Rog I can only speak for my response to yourself which perhaps is more 'considered' as you put it. The difference is certain posters on here have history of long standing disagreements, some of which go back many many years, mine with jenlyn does as as an example. There are others. During those years lots of things have been said some of it quite abusive and 'rude' as Betty put it, so interactions tend to continue on that basis, particularly where there is disagreement. Where there hasn't been previous abuse between posters (such as between you and I) then interactions tend to continue on that basis too. (Posting content and style tends to be modified depending on who the interactions are between is what I am trying to say.)

I consider myself told off (just in case you come across it). In future, I'll stick to twunt when referring to nasty Nick.

It's just words. In all my years of boating I've never heard those kind of words. No seriously! That's why the waterways are so special. Mind you I am deaf in one ear due to standing too close to the fucking drummer....

I think you should read the whole thread before singling out a particular post. And for the record I agree it is rude, but it's also accurate because he is one. You also might want to do search on the word (and variations of it ) to ensure you pick up everybody ( Not just me ) who has used it and the variations in order you can foster your opinions on the use of the term on them. Poppycock! I have actually read the entire thread, and please feel free to point out where anyone else has felt the need to use that word in this thread? Don't try and legitmize what you wrote by saying others have posted it as well. If I had read their posts I would have responded the same way. So don't feel for one little minute that I'm picking on you. You wrote what you wrote and I've responded. You took a perfectly acceptable "bitchfest" between you and Steve and lowered the tone twofold. I'm not a delicate little flower who takes offence at every curse word; however I do believe there is a limit and I'm simply pointing out you've crossed mine. Well its not actually poppycock at all, firstly I wasnt just refering to this thread but the forum generally which i belive my post makes clear, and secondly why have you never picked up on the multitudenous use of the word 'twat' which not only refers to the same thing ie female genitals but also has been used many many times on here, by one particular poster...

Where the devil did I imply I was looking for sympathy? Please don't put words in my mouth thank you. Someone posted something which I felt was inappropriate, and I felt the need to share my feelings with them. End of and really None of your business. Please feel free to get off your soap box, your already tall enough

Probably the same way they got away with the use of the terms 'niggers' and 'wogs' in one episode, times were different in the 70's.
