they do quite a good range of breakfasts as well Shapfell outside 2016 SAM_0378 by mudlarker2, on Flickr Fairlight outside the boss's place on a much quieter 2018! My word Gazza !!! that is a heck of a lot quieter !!! I was in that general area for quite a few months that year and I don't think I ever saw it that quiet ..... That was a particularly busy sunday breakfast stop but it was always pretty busy at that end (apart from the actual curved bit further back nearer the pub ....the Cutter?) but most times there were a lot of boats SAM_0362 by mudlarker2, on Flickr

This is the view looking out the back now. 7 boats towards the Lincoln Bridge and that's it! I'll get a shot of Willow Walk (your photo is taken just as you have gone under the Lincoln Bridge - Babylon gallery to your port side) when we leave, not many boats that end yesterday afternoon either. It may get busier this afternoon, the new rules do ensure a good turnover of boats.

Pie, chips, veg and gravy done proper. So good it got devoured before I remembered to take a photo Not a roofing slate, baking tray, piece of driftwood or galvanised bucket in sight. Well done the proprietors of the Swan at Littleport π»ππ’

I am ashamed to admit...I often lick my plate clean-but only in the privacy of my own home, usually in the kitchen when I'm on my own!

What you see is what you get. Which as you know may not add up to very much.

another decent place ....... moored just the other side of the bridge a couple of times (quieter than their moorings) 5 minutes from home, we are here as friends are on the campsite 400 yards up the road. Seemed daft to give ourselves a 1 mile walk back to the Boat Haven. Good call as it's currently pissing it down!

Most tacky and chav-like. An entertaining thought is that when we are down your way you may care to dine in style on our boat. Red, yellow and green peppers stuffed with minced lamb basmati rice and brown kidney beans, infused with cayenne pepper, and topped with delicately singed Mozzarella cheese, for example? looking forward to it already, we will bring the bottle. time it right and we could help you up or down the flight too. just as long as there are no satchets of sauce π

last nights menu Smoked cod with white wine and butter beans.
finely chop 1 large onion 3 sticks of celery 3 cloves of garlic (more if you really like garlic)
Fry gently in a big deep sided pan until soft
add 1 glass white wine, add herbs (Bay, thyme, oregano. or a good sprinkling of dried mixed Italian style herbs)
reduce to about half
add approx 150ml vegetable stock and 150 ml of cream (I normally use Elmlea instead)
bring back to a simmer and add 2 or 3* decent sized portions of skinned smoked cod (the good stuff not the 'orrible bright yellow dyed stuff)
simmer for about another 7 or 8 min depending on the thickness of the cod.
season with black pepper (unlikely to need salt)
serve on fluffy rice (I normally add a little garnish of either chopped baby spinach or fresh basil to add a little colour)
Also works well with fresh whitefish but then probably will need salt
* for number to be served ..... quantity of sauce will serve two, three or even four
