Unlike you to make assumptions. Nobody mentioned Nick. My comment was a generalisation. Nick subsequently decided to be offended. My opinion that "the gay culture seems to feel it has to effect everyone" is as valid as anyone else's view. I'm not bothered by gays, I'm simply not interested. If I really wanted to put up a decent argument about gays and marriage, it would be easily won, owing to the fact I believe in reproduction. As yet, I don't think this can be achieved by same sex relationships or marriage. I cannot enter into a civil partnership, because I am heterosexual. All seems a bit one sided to me. So much for the equality shite. Marriage and reproduction are not related. Marriage is about declaring a lifelong commitment to someone else, tax liabilities and having a next of kin power when the spouse is, for example, seriously ill. Reproduction is about the selfish gene's desire to replicate despite the world already being infested with far too many of the species. Your entitled to your view, but the fact remains, same sex marriage or relationships cannot reproduce, no matter how you choose to dress up your argument. There is nothing selfish about reproduction, it so happens it's a necessity. Your pathetically futile statement on that just goes to show how stupid some of your comments are.

I am so disappointed. I thought the OP was going to ask why a human cannot marry a fluffy bunny or even a badger. You would have to go to CWDF to find a fluffy bunny. Phil Couldn't we have one or two on here? I've just remembered summit from my distant past...when I was a mere youngster...bout hmmm dunno...yep still had long hair so either 9 or 10 or 15/16...anyway ages ago my mum sent us to confirmation classes and in them the vicar said that the reason marriage between brother/sis forbidden was due to the problems with interbreeding and inherited diseases....ok now days wif modern technology and advances in screening culling of affected foetuses and sterilisation could be the way forward....or perhaps having 'imperfect' inherited disease ridden babies is something that the world needs to contend with.....

Hats are soooooooooo yesterdays news...Fascinators are the must have head gear...my daughter in law spent a stupid amount on a pink feather creation that has since been loaned to all her friends...

Maybe all this 'gay is great' stuff portroyed by the media, backed by government legislation, isn't really what it seems. Everybody knows that the world is over populated now, and that future projected growths will bring about catastrophe. So perhaps governments, whilst flatly refusing to talk about the problem of over population, deal with the problem in a more subtle way by encouraging homosexuality, thereby reducing childbirth. Perhaps it is good to be gay, after all?

No offence to any of the sausage riders here Kris, but that just isn't my bag. I am more on this planet as a gift from the Good Lord to the ladies of the world.

That seems to be your default explanation for everything.

In the natural world male members of the families of most advanced mammals are driven out when they reach sexual maturity to avoid inbreeding. Inevitably the homeless males will look for a mate or mates (often a complete herd where the governing male has to be overthrown, and most of the challengers will never succeed). The result is a lot of unfulfilled males who often club together for companionship and protection.
In Arab countries where one wealthy man can marry 4 women, there will similarly be a lot of unfulfilled men, and plenty of gay sex (although Muslims will always deny it, cos it's against the will of Allah and carries the death penalty under shariah law). It is also well known that in harems, where sometimes of hundreds of women are 'owned' by just one man, most of those females will also be unfulfilled with similar results.
So it could be argued that homosexuality is natural, the result of social forces.

Nobody has mentioned bisexuals yet.
The best of both worlds perhaps?
What about a woman having two husbands and both of them being bi?
I wouldn't know anything about this and do not advocate unusual arrangements as I'm sure it would lead to even more aggrevation.
