I quite understand all this anti neo liberalism hyperbole. What the world really needs is a return to pure liberal economics, a la 1800's. A system that rewards those who choose to make an effort in life rather than vast groups of so called 'victims', who are only victims because they chose to be so. We need to return to the deep natural bonds of family and community, aided by the charity which is a natural tendency of human nature. Better this, rather than tens of millions of people who claim entitlment, and when they receive this, are deeply and bitterly resentful. Resentful because, how ever high their entitlement may be, it can never ever be enough.
Fuck neo liberalism and more especially, the cancer that is socialism. A cancer that has existed within our shores for more than 50 years, and grows ever more virulent in western Europe, year on year.

The rules were not structured to be entirely flexible. The flexibility was in the way they were enforced. When needed they could and were enforced strictly. Telling the truth as you say you saw is is the same as a witness in court who twist things to their advantage, which is what you did. I know you posted stuff that was incorrect and used stuff that was not verified. In court if the case was important enough witnesses end up in another court charged with perjury. You just got a short period of not being able to post, not banned. So the blame is all yours and nothing to do with Dan he just enforce the rules after many people had asked you to stop as he was supposed to do. In fact he may not have done it personally but one of the other admins. The rules were structured to be flexible, in particular the "no disruptive posting" one. Any post that doesn't toe the party line or disagrees with someone (in the management team) could be considered disruptive. As to the rest of your waffle, could I point out that the forum is not a court. lol So it can't be stuffed shirt you that is wrong boy you do have a chip and a half on your shoulder.

nick you have I assume evidence of that, please post it otherwise I will believe it to be untrue. Nothing in the entire time I have seen John's posts leads me to believe it. Waffle. lol So you have no evidence and thus the waffle you posted is untrue. Which means nothing you say can be trusted.

Oh dear I believe provable evidence not guesses. The one thing I strongly suspect is that if it was only 70% or less the news will soon have it. No I think the figure published is real, and I think the Catalan government could not believe their luck when the count gave them that figure. I spend my days accepting, note the word, what people who have a vested interest say. You think it is real, I think it is over-egged by an organisation desperate to get their fanatical nationalist way at any cost. lol Think what you like, I don't think you would know the real thing if it bite you.

Neither would you. You have no more hard information than I do, you are just choosing to interpret that scant and unreliable information in a different way, which of course is your prerogative. Even if it makes you seem gullible to me.

We are all ignorant of the true circumstances, and can only draw conclusions and opinions based on our own peculiar prejudices.
My personal prejudices direct me towards the view that Catalonia will be independent within the next few years, thanks to the brutal interjection of the Spanish authorities.
Other views are of course available.

Even if it makes you seem gullible to me. I know there is going to be a heck of a row in Spain/Catalonia regardless of what the voting figures are. That was always going to be the case even if the vote had been 51% in favour. If the Spanish do the wrong thing it could blow into a civil war and that could take Europe apart. There are scores to be settled and some will take the chance to do so. So gullible no a realist very much so, far more that you.

Not mine but I like it. Are the Catalonians willing to pay for what they've taken? "There are two main reasons I think Spain is reluctant to let Catalonia go. One is obviously it encourages other regions to do the same. The other probably more important and less talked about, is that if Catalonia goes what happens to the debts they owe Spain? They have borrowed 75 (75,000,000,000) billion euros, most of it guaranteed by the Spanish government. If Catalonia split and refuse to pay it, Spain is on the hook. Also there is the question of 1.2 trillion (1,200,000,000,000) of Spainβs national debt. They should pick up their fair share (200 billion roughly) or at least the 75 billion they borrowed directly. Either way they will probably not pay it back and Spain will be stuffed. Spainβs GDP drops 20 percent by losing Catalonia but their debt stays the same. No country on Earth would be keen to be lumbered like this while the new breakaway country starts life with a clean sheet and gets away Scot-free." the thing is, if they had kept to the New Statute of Autonomy that was agreed between the Spanish government and the Catalan National assembly in 2010 then the independence movement in Cataluna would never have received the boost that has taken it to where it is today. However the Spanish courts blocked it and this seems to have stirred up a tremendous amount of resentment. (Part of the agreement splits the Catalan legal system from the Spanish one, much like English and Scots law is separate ..... so one wonders about their impartiality)
