Johnv on Sabina H has just passed my mooring, slowly heading for Ocean Lock in Goole Docks. It looks like he'll be delayed due to the South Dock Bridge having to be swung for him, and listening to VHF, it sounds like the docks are busy with ships arriving/departing. He is going up to York, and looks to have a couple of crew.

keep your eyes peeled for the scoundrel, and please let me know if he comes down this way.
.............. I regret that I can't tell you where 'this way' is - it is restricted information.

I don't know which org bodger works for but it is standard practise at MI6 to take on the identity of someone else while keeping one's own personal information secret. Obviously.
It's easy to build up a whole story while the person you are pretending to be innocently goes about their daily business until suddenly they get assassinated by a short bloke with a balaclava and an Uzi 9mm.
I imagine this is what bodger must be up to.

Yes, I've took a couple of photos passing me, and also up on the Ouse around Boothferry Bridge. Weather a bit gloomy though. I will put the pictures up when I've sussed how to do it.

The scattergun approach I guess.

With the aid of Peterboat and another friend we successfully negotiated the perils of the river Ouse ...... By heck it is a bit scary in places .......like hammering through a narrow bridge hole at 10 knots ..... gulp !!!
Massive amounts of rubbish in the river .... huge logs plus what looked like someones patio drifting around. Also very overgrown banks with trees that reach out to grab you on the bends ..... there are a few now that have had their branches shortened !!!
Now moored in York by the Railway bridge
Will try and sort out the few pictures I managed to take tomorrow

A failed attempt to post some photos using my tablet and Flickr. Never mind, time to get my son involved.

A failed attempt to post some photos using my tablet and Flickr. Never mind, time to get my son involved. Just go to www.imgur.com and make an account (so easy) - after having downloaded/uploaded (whatever!) photo of your choice to imgur, then you can choose the size of picture, click on 'copy direct link' and on the 'reply' on Thunderboat ('reply' - not 'quick reply') you click the picture button on the third bar over to the right and insert the direct code.

If you want to relive it Johnv, there's this: I don't know what tide he was out on ...... it must have been neaps. He was worried about his engine overheating as he was doing 10 knots ...... we were on fast tickover doing 10 knots, trying to go slower but needing to keep steerage !!! ........... and the river for him was clear of debris, we had logs 8 or 10 foot long and a foot thick drifting down !!! With the bigger tide and stronger currents the turbulence at the bridge holes and the eddies and boils around some of the sharper bends were really fierce. I can understand why the old barges usually went through the bridge holes backwards ...... even with 160 Hp we were having to open her up quite hard to keep her on line (or there abouts !!!) I have just been downloading the pictures from my camera, I will sort through them and try and post some later.
