Do love em though!

Eat the tin, it's got more nutritional content than the pie.

They should be opened and emptied into the nearest toilet thereby cutting out the middle man...

I had a couple hanging around on the boat, they didn't taste how I remember. Also keep a few packets of Vesta meals handy. The Chow Mein one is Ok as is the curry. I used to enjoy the rissotto one but haven't seen that for years now,

As a teenager I worked in a warehouse that distributed, amongst other things, Fray Bentos pies. I got damaged ones for pennies from the staff shop, but even as a skint teen couldn't bring myself to eat them. My flatmate lived on them.

Asda still do them but mainly the Chow Mein. The crispy noodles are the best bit but you need to chuck a fair bit of oil in the pan. Not over keen on hot cooking oil or deep fat fryers in a boat, TBH, I doubt the Veata curry would sell well now as there are many tinned curries which are quick to heat up and taste pretty good, I make my own curries using onions, garlic, various spices and tinned chopped plum tomatoes as the base. Add chicken or prawns as required. Only takes about 20 mins.
