I'm a semi-retired porn actor. I feel bad about lying. I'm an honest sort of person. I've never done porn acting and I have never worked for the government or anyone else (except a dodgy Indian) Truth is that I came into some money when I was 18 partly on account of a plane crash which killed a wealthy relative (true). I have never worked (well I had a paper round) but also never spent much money. over the last 25 years I have lived on about the same or less than what state benefits would pay a single person but its my own money. im flabbergasted, you mean to tell me you don't work for MI6, well I don't think I'll believe anything anybody ever tells me again.

Gazza. Re the dodgy indian. No That was the paper round I did when I was 15 for "Suthar Brothers" of Hampton Wick. It was a great paper round delivering the sun and notw to the estates then torygraph and times to the expensive riverside properties 5 minutes away. And the occasional Guardian to the bits in between.
My mum was tight with money and made me do a paper round in order to earn some money to buy a mountain bike.

I was one of seven at home. Money was always tight, and we were all encouraged to get jobs when old enough. I did paper rounds and later window cleaning. I suspect your Mum, rather like my own, did not have too many choices, and I like to think the life lesson made us realise very early that a) you get nothing in life for free b) an understanding of the effort and energy it takes to earn money I know I risk sounding like a 'sad old git' but hearing school age kids today alarms me at the levels of expectation and entitlement expressed. I certainly don't think my old Mum, was just tight with money Rog

I had a paper round to get my pocket money.
Loved doing Sunday's when everyone had broadsheets and I had to post them one section at a time in the tiny letter boxes.
Strangely I got most of my tips from the people who got the people, mirror and notw.
And I wish I dident have to work. Working retail means I have missed a lot of my kids early years.

Jack of all trades master of none. At 20, Lost our family farm in Zimbabwe to Mugabe's war heroes in 1982. Got involved in the fishing industry in SA (Port Elizabeth) - commercial fishing skipper. 10 years. Moved to Peterborough, built engines at Perkins for 10 years. Moved to Perth WA and wife missed home so came back to P'boro. Got into property development for 10 years so I can do most jobs connected - including plastering/kitchen fitting/tiling/plumbing. The recession put paid to that... and my marriage unfortunately. Now single (and broke - I let the wife have everything) I'm a service Tech working within the NHS repairing and PAT testing palliative care hoists/beds/mattress and checking slings in peoples homes driving throughout Cambridgeshire. LOVE IT.!!! Saving to get back on the water, though my mind is torn between canal and ocean going vessels. Want both.!! can't afford either ATM.

Re the boat, if you are working in Cambs, why not get yourself something half handy and keep it on the Great Ouse, out of Earith or Denver, down to Lynn, next tide and the East Coast is your Oyster ⚓🚢👍🍻

Vince
One has to be subtle.
The last thing you want to do is post a picture of yourself holding up a Bowie knife and doing a manic smile.
Of course if that was actually someone else then it helps to reinforce the false identity. That's the great thing about virtual communication (Internet type thing) you can be whoever you want to be.

I'm a frustrated Fenlander, our long view is to move there when the dwarf spreads her wings, she's 3 1/2 at the moment, fair bit of waiting to do! I can think of no finer place to keep something at home on the river or out at sea, say it quietly but it's better than the bottom end of our river 🚢⚓👍🍻

What sort of boat are you after? Do you want to live on it 24/365? Permanent. MM, my experience is 400 ton trawlers 20m long. Size…or headroom, will be important as I'm a typical antipodean rugby player sized 6'4" 18 stone. If its sea going, then it has to be something small enough to handle alone (preferred option up to 44' ketch - metal) Canal narrow/wide….I honestly think they are beautiful boats to live on but I reckon I may get bored easy I'm afraid. So if i'm honest they are 2nd option. (or retirement) I follow all the relative apolloduck/yachting/forums etc, so realise my budget has to be @50-60k for anything substantial/modernised/set up for single sailing….got a ways to go on saving.

kris posted a link to quite a nice steel sailing boat recently. Its good to have more hands on deck so if you see anything interesting please put a link on the *interesting or unusual boars for sale" thread in the "history" section. Its not all about narrow boats and barges

Now I know I'm digresing but I'm going to do a foxy as this is probably the best thread for it. A very good friend of mine is a scaffolder. Sly, now him and two colleagues were filmed as part of the good morning with James Martin programme on itv. They are reviewing wine. Three different ones per episode. Problem was they did it all in one morning. He said they were quite pissed by the end. This is the first one. If your interested my mate is the one on right. For comedy value I will put up the last one when it airs to see. He said filming was a right laugh. They were drinking whole glasses at a time. www.itv.com/saturdaymorning/scaffolders-try-pink-rose
