So does any go out or to work and you have a rough moment or something bad happens but it's just an occupational hazzard.
Well today I went to work. Worked hard and got loads done when a meat thief came in.
I got hold of him outside but still on the premesis had recovered the goods and let him go on his way.
Next thing I know a big chap jumps out of a car and wants me to come over so we can sort it out. The other bloke pulls out an extendable baton and starts waving it around.
So I ran inside. Last time someone threatened to stab me and I called the non emergency number an hour later and got told off.
So this time I rang 999 straight away.
Was told it would be filed as the steaks value was not enough. Even though I have his description, his name and reg.
Thought nothing of it. Had a call at home and someone in t force is going mental that no one came to see me.
Turned out they commited more crime in the new forest and the driver tried running over a pcso to escape. My meat thief was locked up in custody. Two hours later, statement made and cctv burned off.
They are still looking for the car.
anyone else had a not so perfect day?

Christ!
My not so perfect day is hitting my thumb with a hammer or not being able to do a bit of homework!
Sounds like the Co-Op should be paying you danger money!
Fair play to you, I couldn't be doing with working with the public that aren't trying to nick stuff or brain you with a stick!

I've had a boring day at work. Every day at work is boring. The only light relief was that I had to give another driver a lift to Cannock to pick up a tractor unit, and he was fascinated by the fact that I live on a narrowboat and didn't want to talk about anything else. Which is fine by me because I like talking about narrowboats. I gave him an old copy of Canal Boat magazine which I had knocking about, and he was as thrilled as I would be to be given a pair of Shania Twain's used panties.
Other than that, just another day of pot-boiling, ticking away the days until the clocks go forward in March 2018 and I have saved enough money to go off cruising again.
Sorry to hear about your shit day though, dealing with the public is always crap, which is why I don't do it.

We know our limits we do try to catch em but luckily know when to walk away. Colleague of mine walked away from a thief the week and got smacked around the head three times. Even walking away has its issues. I walked away facing them. Thing is policy is to let them walk but do that and you won't have any stock left after a day or two

Bit of handbags and shouty shouty sessions but nothing remotely resembling getting even close to a smack around the chops. Although God knows there's a fair few Muppets that could have deserved it! It puts it all into perspective though, next time I have a flair up with our princesses on production I shall (again) remind them that making shit pipe liners as fast as humanly possible is not the ultimate goal in life, going to work and being thankful for coming home in one bit is aa bit more important! 🍻⚓🚢👍

I have a few every day being on the roads, knob head drivers thinking they are racing grand prix.
Last winter though after just setting off from the warehouse and going down the M66 when a car hundred yrds or so in front of me swerved for at that moment an unknown reason.
Untill what it swerved from was a artic tyre that it had infact hit and smashed his front bumper. Then i hit it on rebound and it caught under the drivers front wheel and rippied off the handbrake cable and front bumper bracket. During which time i had the steering wheel pull me over to the central reservation and i just missed hitting a car before i dragged the van back over just missing the barrier and bear flipping the van.
I got to the hard shoulder to find 3 three other cars sat there with damage.
Thats was a good start t o the day at 5am. Good rush to wake you up lol.
Been a few on the last job when having a flat deck full of 19kg LPG cylinders or 47kg. twice been forced off the road by pikies. well they tried. Worst one was when there was a black BMW 5 series with 5 rather chunky chaps with hi vis gear on. Started nicely to ask to pull over off the motorway, i refused due the look of them. They were not impressed so they tried to force me off and yelling out the window, cut to the point, i had a full tank twice the size vehicle so i stayed on the motorway ready to get to Hull.
dont knows worse dealing in gas or drugs nowadays lol

Sorry about your crap day - Andy works for Sainbugs and a few years ago got punched in the face whilst trying to stop a chap walking out of his shop with a crate of lager... the chap got arrested and sent down (for something worse) and was supposed to pay a compensation fine to Andy... AS he was in prison by the time THIS case was heard- and had no benefits/income, he never got a penny.
Now he lets them take what they like - its just not worth the risk of being stabbed by a drugged up pysco.

I would of turned around and gone back to bed. We had simular a while ago. Going down the motorway at a steady 70, remember I do drive a piccaso xsarra. In the middle lane overtaking and a car pulls out in front. All ok till his mate who was following decides he needs to be behind his mate. Overtakes me at pace and flies into the gap in front slamming his breaks on to slow back down. I gave him a flash as it was close and another five seconds and his mate would of pulled back over and he could of just followed me and pulled over. Well that set him right off break checked me. I overtook and carried on but his mate decided to have ago. Forced me into the hard shoulder and braked down to ten mile an hour. Giving it hand signals and stuff. To be fair I was laughing especially when I pointed my dash cam at him. Jo's face dropped. Of the kids weren't in my car I would of just slammed into the back of him.

The entire contents of the shop, and tills are REALLY not worth a day of ill health or injury to you.
Was involved with trying to stop a detained shop lifter battering the security man at the weekend. I couldn't care if stuff gets nicked, but cannot standby and watch anyone get hurt. Luckily I was able to bore the thief into submission.
Keep your head down and get home safe. It's a job not a mission. The loss of some meat will barely be noticed, as I'm sure you know.

By the way, I should have also said, our security guy has since been told by his management, that he should concentrate on deterring any thefts rather than trying to catch any thieves.
It must have given him such a warm feeling to know his management are so unappreciative of his efforts.

Rog That's what we do, offer them a basket offer help etc. Even though we know that they will steal. We can do that ten times a day. They just keep coming and on the 11th time they get away. Technically we are allowed to stop them and ask for it back but cannot leave the premises and if they get funny then let them go. Which is kinda what happened today. Saying that when we approach someone who is about to steal, to stand near them. That's when they get aggressive. Playing the innocent game all hard done by. We have a security guard too. Dunno what the point is. We get more theft when they are in. On a different note. No hat trick but we won four two. Ended the day nicely. Enjoying a beer now.

Not me but my sister is a guard at a supermarket, stopped a junkie who was tying to rob stuff, said junkie pulled a needle and stabbed her with it shouting i have HIV... It was a long wait for the all clear, but junkie got banged up which is good!
