I might be tempted to take a hit on the trawler if needs be, then sell the little one at your leisure and live in the one you want to, albeit a bit poorer than you hoped. How much money do you really need to supplement your pension with the trawler gone? (I mean ask yourself, don't tell us!)

Just love the little boat but I do have one question regarding the big boat. What is it I can see on the waterline just below the dent Phil I will add a few photos on which you can see better what you see Under the dent, it's a sort of skeg to help the boat going forward in a straight line if there's a lot of side wind, as a round boat will lose track when you have to go very slow, and this thing does help quite a lot.

Some people are envious of someone with a load of boats but having been boat rich myself at one time I fully understand the position you find yourself in and hope you can resolve it soon Phil Barges were my life, and I've had quite a few and often several at the same time, but that's a while ago now, and the only thing left is souvenirs of the past.
I'm moaning and complaning but I know that there are plenty of people that wouldn't mind swapping their misserable lives with my misserable life.
I still live in hope that this year may become a better year than the (say only) past 5 years.
Peter.

Peter. Have you thought of moving one closer to the other. I have thought of that thebfg, and even had them all at the same place, which was almost the ideal situation.
But......in France we have VNF, the same sort of club as C&RT in the UK, and I can't say that we are great friends.
They didn't want me to have all of my boats there, even paying for seperate moorings didn't work.
For them there was no space left, but 3 barges had been sold and left the town and their moorings were free.
Their excuse was that they weren't sure if they wouldn't come back and re-clame their moorings.
I knew that one of them was scrapped a few years after that barge was sold, and another one was sold to a Belgian family and had a beautiful mooring on the Meuse in Belgium where their Young kids went to school, they were Belgian and had not the slightest intension of living in France.
So there would have been plenty of space, in the end I got the offer from VNF for a mooring 35kms from here where the Rietaak is now, not the most practical solution, but better than an endless battle with VNF.
But I have to pay for these moorings, and as I have more monthly fixed expenses than my retirement peanuts, to limit the expenses a bit, I found a free mooring 60kms from here for the little boat, sadly enough driving up and down there is expensive too.
No more chauffeur driven Rolls-Royces for me, and old CitroΓ«n Xsare Estate with the very powerful non-turbo 1.9Diesel is plenty good enough for me
Peter.

To be able to answer that question, I have to see a good fortune teller that doesn't blow-up my lie detector, as it's depending on how many years there are left for me to share with the living in reasonable comfort.
I don't think somehow that I will live as long as my Rietaak has lived already, and I have received quite a bit more more than only a dent in my bow
Peter.

On another note how did you lose the enregister? That really is a very good question, I wish I could give you the answer, but I can't, it just stopped by itself. I'm not clever enough to solve that sort of highly technical problems (or any other problems either it seems Peter.

You haven't got where you are without being able to sort things out. Positive things happen to positive people, Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.
