Flowers used to do a passable ale. I haven't seen if for quite a few years now. Must google it.

First beer is ever had was a can of Flowers It would appear that Flowers has gone to the great brewery in the sky having been sold on by Whitbreads/Interbrew

It does seem though that Brains currently have the licence to brew it. I'm sure I saw it in cans within the last few years. I've been thinking about this and couldent remember the name of the orange one. But it just came to me. My first beer with the old man was 6x The first beers I had in a drinking session with the lads was Boddingtons and stones.

I haven't seen Flowers for years. As for Boddingtons the only good thing about that was Melanie Sykes in their quality 90's adverts. I could never get on with it, likewise Stones. My first proper beer would have been Green King IPA with the old man mouse in the Vivian Arms Wellingborough aged 14ish. Pub now long gone sadly. After the taste was acquired anything would do - apart from Stones and Boddingtons obviously!

When we were venture scouts at 16 it was our units choice of drink. With it being what 3.8% it was a good session drink and even in our younger years we could just keep on drinking it. I wish I still had the photos but between about 8 of us we could build massive pyrimids out of the emptys. All the other scouts would be passing out at tea time, yet we could go on an All day session and keep going all night. It was easy stuff but made out unit into legends. With our beer towers and all. Ringwood best is our new session drink.

Last saw Trophy in the Nags head, Welling Blimey, I've had a pint or six in the Nag's Head, Welling. My stomping ground in my late teens, and my mate Mark AKA "The Welling Greaser" lived just round the corner from it.

My stomping ground in my late teens, and my mate Mark AKA "The Welling Greaser" lived just round the corner from it. It was one of a few we used back in the 80's depending on the mood, We Anchor in Hope at the Welling end of Shooters hill, The Red Lion on Shooters hill and the Crown and Cushion by the Woolwich Ferry. If we were going posh it was a trip to Blackheath to the Hare and Billet.
