"Children In Need, along with Comic Relief and the next re-re-re-release of Band Aid, are all birds of a shit-feather, duping you into lining the pockets of African despots since 1984. I would love for someone to do a fully detailed study into how much as been donated to charities promoting work/aid in Africa. I think as equally as shocking as where the money has gone is the extortionate salaries execs for Oxfam and the like command… £120k+ if memory serves correctly. If a life-size Pudsey gets in my way this weekend, I will seriously consider punching the fucker to the floor." - - - - - - "Indeed, Saint Joe Cox’s hubby was a senior gaffer at Save the children – £120K + expenses + £11k a year for his pension pot – left for not saving the children but fiddling with his female colleagues, nowhere to be seen days after St Joe’s murder – also worked as an advisor to Brown the one eyed clown and big mates with Barry Soetoro. The cunts on lifetime gravy charridy trains are massive. Imagine being hungry and fat celeb bastards Lenny Henry and Dawn French turn up showing you what its like to eat 7 square meals a day and fly first class. The hypocrisy of the slebs, Execs, tin rattling cunts earning a nice wedge asking you, nay screaming at you to give them your fucking money Geldof style is stomach churning. Allegedly we don’t have any children in care over here apart from the obligatory ethnics kids who have been dumped by their wastrel fathers but we have loads of room for 'Syrian' 22 year olds who crack on they are 16. When we have full employment, spare council housing and not a single British kid going hungry or being knocked around not a single penny will the yellow bear get from me – that’s ABBC off for the night. Oh – and in the last 40 years Africa has received half a trillion pounds in aid – that’s £500,000,000,000. Give a white man a fish and it will feed him for the day. Give an African a fishing rod and he will sell it. Fuck em!!" I take it you aren't impressed with the Children in Need charity then Foxy? "Wrote to the BBC few years back pointing out that (instead of guilt tripping those who are struggling to keep their heads above the water) that the top 100 richest people in this country could cover this using a fraction of 1% of their wealth. The answer which came back basically said that 'they' already give a lot, Of course it would be inappropriate for the amounts to be made public knowledge. Maybe they should, so they can keep us off their backs. " "Why can't retired lawyers, senior managers, bankers etc volunteer their time freely like the rest of us? Well some may do, but do we hear about them?. To be fair though, it does cost a lot of money to send your grandchildren to Eton, pay off mortgages on +£1,000,000 investments...sorry...meant homes"

Anyway, I've always said money poisons everything. Far better I think to spend quality time helping our kids, parents, grandparents, friends (real ones) and others we bump into. In fact, if everyone in the world did that, we wouldn't need to send money. It's those selfish people again, and there are selfish people in every country.

Never watched it and never will.
I cant avoid it though because we have to pay £1 each for both of the sprogs to have the privilege of going to school tomorrow in their pyjamas. Bloody cheek, I'll take it out of their pocket money mwhahaha

The Dwarf's nursery emailed yesterday to let parent's know their children can go in wearing their favourite fancy dress costume also to the tune of £1
Today she went as Elsa from Frozen, which means there's one other tune that neatly goes with this post.
👍😎

It's always an impressive amount that's raised, and much good work is supported, but I do wonder about the use of Radio 2 and BBC 1 in particular to give massive amounts of publicity to a BBC in-house cause when any other charity wanting even a small percentage of the coverage would fall under the 'no advertising' rule. From experience I know it's almost pointless trying to raise money for anything else in November once Remembrance day is past.
They are adamant that none of the donated money goes to administration, but then it doesn't need to - all that is presumably supported by licence fee money.

Patty for gawds sake don't encourage him Loved it the year the BBC realised that Wogan was getting paid each year for his contribution. His accountant and agent, allegedly never told him. Must be nice to earn so much that several hundred thousand can get into the account without noticing. I remember when there was no advertising on the BBC. Now there are a constant stream of adverts for their own programmes all costing a fair bit to produce no doubt, but it doesn't matter the licence fee payer will stump up. Rog

So we have a choice;
1. Pay more tax
2. Don't support the needy any further than what the tax system will do
3. Donate to a charity.
Open to offers on a better system...

Ah let the celebs have their moments on tv..I did watch a bit until I fell asleep about 8.30 and some of the charities shown are helping these kids and it made me think so what if the celebs all shine and it could be a career boosting exercise for some..so long as ill kids benefit it don't really matter...Im still tad cynical ref all the money 'managing' the money costs but you can see that children genuinely get help.... I guess some journalistic ferret will ensure at some time all know hidden costs.

To improve a system you need to work out what the issues are. 1% of the financially richest in the world own half of the worlds weath apparently. It's all about sharing nicely and giving a shit.
