We're probably not even allowed to CALL it "Black" Friday anyway....
What a load of tosh.
My in box was FULL of "offers" (reading small print item 40% off the price of a product that was only at the higher price for 2 weeks in August anyway)...
DO THEY THINK WE ARE ALL STUPID? nuff said!

Black Friday was a bad enough American import.
Now it's Black Friday week!

It depends. As Martin Lewis says if you need to buy something anyway it can work in your favour. e.g. our washer gave up the ghost a few weeks back and we couldn't afford to wait to buy a replacement. The Samsung one we bought is £150 cheaper this week than the price we paid. So had it gone belly up this week we would have saved a few quid. It's not a saving at all if you buy something just because it's cheaper than normal if you wouldn't have bought it anyway.

NOT that I'm sulkying because I bought my new batteries a few weeks ago and today Tanya were "supposedly" doing 40% off.... Twunts....

Possibly, if you wanted the type of battery that sits on their shelf for years. I could find 5% off selected stock. Wowser. Recently bought 3 myself. Best not to look after purchase I find.

It's not a saving at all if you buy something just because it's cheaper than normal if you wouldn't have bought it anyway. Exactly! The dwarfs Christmas present bike from Halfords was £110 pre Black Friday, I picked it up for £70 with £3.50 Quidco cashback and a £2.50 bonus effectively it was £64. We had decided a new bike was what she would have as the current 12" one she has is a little on the small side. it made sense to get it now and stash it in the garage loft as it doesn't eat or drink and the £46 saving can be used elsewhere. I also had a nice touch from the Tricky Indian at Eurocarparts. As good as 50% off everything plus £2.36 cash back and another £2.50 bonus on top. It meant a Mann 916/1 oil filter worked out at £2.50 each, way cheaper than anywhere else. I got 5 of em so we are good for 5 years worth of oil changes on Dad's boat. Both of the above examples would have needed buying between now and Christmas, so seeing as some good discounts were available it made sense to do it this week and put them on the shelf, It's not as if the savings interest rates are any good either

I liked the idea in general when it started. Companies would have two or three items that were unbelievably cheap. This offer was one day only.
Not you get two weeks. They produce a whole catalogue and there is nothing I can see that I couldn't be cheaper with a bit of digging on the internet.

Back to having to have two different chargers again, for us.

of all the imported American ideas this has to be the worst.
'Black Friday' implies a day when something terrible happened, like 9/11 or summat.
