There are only two types of men in this world, those who admit to looking at internet porn, and liars. I think that policeman is totally out of order and should be prosecuted, or be sued for slander. He has no evidence that Green was the one looking at the porn. Even if he did, so what it’s quite legal. What is not legal is the revelation of private information into the public domain by someone in a position of power and trust. OK if it was something illegal, we’ll possibly but then that should have been dealt with at the time. What the pig is doing is just stirring up the shit because he’s bored and resents having to retire - he can no longer go around shouting at people and telling them what to do. No doubt his penis is tiny and/doesn’t work any more. As to the Green time wasting element, if the pictures were of birds (feathered kind), cars or boats it wouldn’t be newsworthy and no-one would give a shit. Dogless has a point though, with the downloading of porn you are more susceptible to infection...of nasty viruses! There is a reason why malicious software providers target porn sites, sex pulls in more victims. That's not good on a government IT network especially if they are using Kaperski anti-virus! www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42202191

I enjoy a politician's "career" coming to a sticky end. It's a privileged position. To be able to regard it as a career is even more privileged because you need to be assured of a safe seat. Safe seat? The term alone makes a mockery of our electoral system. So some twat becomes somehow entitled to be a safe seat MP ad infinitum and sits wanking over porn because it's just a job. Do the basic minimum, tow the party line, have a wank, dinner and taxi home on expenses due to wanking until 6.01pm (overtime and expenses get legit at some point, might not be 6pm). I say ha ha ha to it being front page news. Waster. You’re just pissed off that he gets paid while wanking!👌

Have any details been released about what "extreme" means in this context. Legal but "extreme". Is it a bdsm thing? Multiple partners? Maybe he's into gay stuff (how shocking that would be). More details needed about this wanker.

9 years ago the copper who has made these "allegations" raided Damian Green's office "controversially".
Mr Green then allegedly ruined said policeman's career.
Mr Green is presently accused of groping someone and has been up before the parliamentary standards committee for a month. The wankgate revelations were made just before the committee was due to make up it's mind. Maybe it looked like he'd denied his way out of groping too.
Politics eh!

And we also need to know if this person used his expense account to access paid-for porn or was he just surfing free shit

Surely the point is, that on official government computers was stored personal information (porn in this case). The story is about misuse of government equipment/finance rather than porn. Frankly I couldn't care less. It is a strange phenomenon, that if someone 'whistle blows' about a subject of interest to one, they are a hero who needs plaudits, but if it is a subject of no interest they should be prosecuted and they have "a penis that's tiny". Rog Was it an official government computer? MPs are “self employed” and normally have to provide their own equipment, although perhaps in this case of a cabinet member it was provided. What if any is the policy about personal use of the supplied computer? I doubt there is any, because when you are a minister your personal and professional life tend to blur into one. Is there a specific contractual clause about use of those office computers? Probably not, since I doubt there is any sort of contract. As I said, if it was any other sort of personal usage it wouldn’t be an issue. It is just a bit of smut to blemish the chap’s reputation, and don’t forget Green supported Andrew Mitchell who was set up by some lying police at no. 10. The police are mostly corrupt or dishonest or at least feel they are in charge of what you can and can’t do, regardless of what the law says. If it was a genuine whistle blowing in the public interest I would support it. But it isn’t, it’s just tittle tattle from a bored ex pig who is misusing his position of power.

many years ago we had a relative come to stay for a couple of days.
a few months later he was accused of certain offences and the police came to our house with a warrant to take any computers to search for evidence RELATED TO HIS MISDEMEANOURS. It would have been utterly irresponsible, and I believe contrary to the police code of conduct, and possibly an offence by the police themselves, if they had found files that were not related to a crime, but could be publicised at some later date by the policemen involved, or by the force in general.
it makes no difference whether Damian's computer was his 'work computer' or his personal possession - the information on it MUST be kept confidential unless it relates to the matter in hand, and if it is not criminally-related must be ignored and never referred to by anyone involved. To do otherwise is the action of a Police State.
I hope the retired PC in question is subjected to the full force of the law, and that Damian sues him for damages.

I seem to recall there was a time when apple iphones were blocked by the manufacturer from accessing online porn. I have never lowered myself to the ownership of an apple product so I don't know if this is true or not.
So I think in some cases (Mr stabby excepted) it would be possible to have internet but not be able to access porn sites.
Don't know what the definition of porn sites would be and if one would still be able to access non specific sites like tumblr.

But if you take on a position of responsibility..part of that should be ensuring 'squeaky clean' background ..to have that type of material whilst in public office does not indicate a lot of sense..what an idiot.. These people think they are privileged and above the law....and no-one should be... Patty, get real.. If we limited recruitment into positions of responsibility to only those who are 'squeaky clean' then we would be governed and administered by a bunch of unimaginative straight-laced bores, like the proverbial 'maiden aunt'. .............. and of course Damian isn't claiming to be 'above the law', on the contrary he is claiming that no offence has taken place (except by the police themselves), however it would seem the retired policeman and his ex-colleagues are trying to be just that.

He won't because to do so would mean going to court where the data would be subject to evidential scrutiny. Green would have to maintain his current line under oath which if proved wrong could open him up to a charge of perjury. The issue of the porn is a non story, the fact he was allegedly doing it on a work computer when had any other public servant being caught doing so would have got the sack makes it a little more of a story. The big one is who is lying. If it's Green he deserves to be dismissed. If it's the cops then damages will have to be paid. I know which it is likely to be and it's not the cops.
