Strobes are dodgy because they interfere with the brain's ability to judge distance. If I were cycling on dark toads I would use two red lamps one on each end of a 1 metre long aluminium bar mounted to the seatpost. And for the front I would have four candles in a transparent box. I love cycling in the dark, don't use bike lights as there is no chance of being hit up the rear as no cars about. Normally the dog is attached to the bike on one of those long leads and has a small strobe light attached to her collar, I have a super bright head torch so I can blind anything coming my way and make sure if they are walkers/runners they get tripped over by the long lead. The dog has also learnt to have a shit on the run. I hope you are quick enough to bag it up. Then hang it on a bush. Like the old mail trains.

Today I had a proper TWAT try to run Taff and I off a footbridge! I am on the towpath its for me and me only!!! as I own two boats and CRT have put a note on one of them!!! I must own the towpath by the amount I pay each year to CRT!!!! Anyway I digress this twat just came flying straight at me and Taff ringing his bell and yelling at me to get out of the way! Taff laid down on command and I blocked the bridge looking at the pretty water passing under me. I thought the cyclist was going to have a fit ranting on about beating his personnel best, anyway he came close to me attaching the bike to him by shoving it up his arse and I told him the towpath rules about cycling and pedestrians having the right of way. whether he took any of this in I dont know, but in the end he had to back up as I wouldnt move. What really annoys me is cycling is banned on our bit of towpath because of knobs like him, honestly if we were allowed to weigh a few down and drown them this problem would soon go away

Well if some people are going to hate me for just going for a cycle ride, I might as well try to give them a heart attack whilst doing so.
