Not quite. Looking back at it Foxy's post which as it happens had not appeared on my phone when I posted mine was not very specific. I always use a knackered old phone and it quite often fails to inform me of previous entries. I'm not going to be a cunt deliberately that's not in my nature Firstly I had not seen it and secondly even if I had seen it I may not have understood it fully due to being a bit stupid. And it caused me some problems and exacerbated my PTSD issues so I thought I would warn others who may be subject to trauma flashbacks. I've been seeing a professional about it for the last couple of days. Its going to be okay. Its not the end of the world. Oh shit I can see a meteori--- I can accept that, but at the same time I agree with Delta9s decision to edit out part of your post and don't consider this to be "moderation" in the generally accepted sense of the word as applied to internet forums. To the best of my knowledge this is only the second time Delta9 has edited a post, the other occasion being when somebody named a celebrity involved in a sex scandal when there was a UK-wide injunction in place prohibiting the naming of that person, and on that occasion I sent Delta9 a PM strongly urging him to remove all references to the person in question because of the enormous financial liability he was opening himself up to as site onwer. To be fair Naughyfox probably should have consulted his lawyer before printing and distributing a calendar with a picture of Angelina Jolie steering a narrow boat topless.

It's not actually Angelina Jolie, but it's an easy mistake to make.

I never post on any other forums, but quite a few people who the site owner and mods at CWDF seem to think is me keep getting banned, . . . some poor sod got the chop about an hour ago, and had all his posts wiped out. Nothing to do with the above, but does anybody know how to change a laptop ID/IP address ? Not really expert on this, but the physical ID is "hard wired". Not sure if that actually gets passed over the network, though. The IP address will be that of your router, which will change with power off/on, unless you have a fixed IP address allocated. Perhaps an identity of Freddy Fudpucker might last longer? As I recall, PhilAterley ? had quite a good run. edited to add :Could also ask a question about navigating on the River Trent (but not as a first post, maybe). That might throw the dementers off the scent .....

oh dear - I appear to be a forum tart compared to many...
UK Saabs, Detailing world, Outeverywhere, SLK world, The T Bar, landrover forums, talkelectrician forum, C70 owners club
to name but a few - I'm not as prolific as I used to be - mainly because I don't have the cars any more, but when I was working on them, I spent a lot of time there... especially the Saab one... those guys are great - one chap even took his dash apart to take a photo of the brace-bracket I snapped when fitting it to stop the bulkhead cracking further on my old 93.
Same for the T bar - I've loads of mg fs and tfs... and everything you need to know is there...

May I suggest avoiding comments about naughty things as we apparently have a moderator aboard. Blabberer! Remember kids....

I have found a website with instructions on how to 'hide a computer ID', which I've been trying follow for the last hour or two, but as yet without much apparent success. I don't really understand what they've done or how they've done it, but now I can't even view CWDF via an 'incognito window', as I have been doing. When I try to log on to the site now, all I can get is a message saying - "Sock puppets are not permitted. Your ID has been banned and will continue to be so banned. Posts will be hidden pending further review by moderators."

Looking at dippy Dan's ''piss off'' message, it's very difficult to shake off the impression that one is probably communicating with alien beings from a far away universe, . . . another world perhaps, but definitely far removed from the 'real' one, and characterized by some very odd thinking : -

I wonder how many recipients of a permanent ban from CWDF they expect to raise donations from ?
