Oh My lordy,
It feels like we're moored somewhere in the Bay of Biscay at the moment - talk about a rough night... (ongoing) - I don't mind the rocking about (can't tie up too tightly as the water level rises and drops through a range of about 18 inches rather quickly here when the flood gates are shut and we have to be mindful of getting stuck on the ledge... again)
I thought I'd tightened the solar panels up well - however since about 3 am, they've had other ideas... add to that "stuff" blowing off the humber barge thing opposite , it's been bloody noisey.
'hope everyone moored safely and not waking up to any damage - no idea if the chimney is still there or not yet.... although the fire is drawing very well!

I didn't get much sleep, it was rather rough. My bloody roof decided to start leaking in the middle of all the torrential rain, think it's coming in by the flue.

Oh yes, a bit "brisk here in the Fens with the boat bumping against the quayheading where some of the attached fendering has decided to go off and visit somewhere else Solar panels OK this time but I did have an issue with one during the last blow, a corner lifted and I had to reglue it down Hope you're all safe. Been noisy here in East Londonland. Mainly because I have too much random crap on roof and a nearby high rise building shite had flappy tarpaulins which are fekkin noisy.
Worst was about 3am but calmer now.
Has been much worse up north I believe.

I asked the Witch to bring in our empty ash bucket before it gotten blown off to the Shetland Islands and banged someone on the bonce. She hasn't slept all night at all. I did - I thought fuck it what's the worst that can happen, we can only end up at Halifax if the rope breaks (bit lazy - hanging on by one string). Apparently two Christmas trees are rolling about in the main road at Elland, one tree down in Halifax, and the usual motley collection of assorted wheelie bins scattered like pins at the bowling alley. Before is WAS blown off gotten should be banned here. Bins are one of the worst - years ago I saw an elderly lady wiped out by a flying bin on a pavement. There were some chaps to help her out. Beware of moving bins - dangerous.

I slept well, but that doesn't say much.
Many years ago, I had been on nights and provided great entertainment for an electrician who was channelling the wall in our bedroom for rewiring.
He couldn't believe I could sleep through the process.
We're in a sheltered spot but it's at least dry. Lunch in the pub seems a good idea.

Huh, you've not heard noise until you've heard the din made by yacht rigging in the wind and the sound of the stays drumming on aluminium masts is unbelievable. On the Broads we were unlucky enough to moor opposite a yacht station Phil

Slept soundly here, no rocking at all.
Which is lucky because we are in the house.
And anyway, Scotland missed all the fun this time.

And anyway, Scotland missed all the fun this time. Here in the North East we copped for some very high winds early morning 2 am onwards till about 6. Uncharacteristically I slept through much of it (I normally can't sleep if its windy) I attribute that to the need to catch up on sleep after a few (late) nights of New Years partying. We had hired a cottage in Staithes old village for the New Year and were joined by family - a good time was had by all.
