What exactly does it do?
The ecofan. Have you installed data logging temperature monitors in all parts of the vessel.

My stove at home sits in a chimley ole, fan pulls hot air out of the hole off the stove slowly and constantly, the temperature in the room evens out rather than being cold in the corners etc. Also, a kettle sits in stove, it won't boil with the fan on stove too. Washing on maiden dries quicker with fan in place. It cost me £90 10 years ago, it's spinning away for 8 or 10 hours 100 days a year. It's saved lots of heat from going up the chimney. So it's paid for itself. You'll be telling me the earth ain't round next.

I don't believe a word of it and yes I can see everest on a clear day.
Actually I just noticed you might be referring to an ecofan used in a land based dwelling.
I know nothing about land based dwellings so I will insert a disclaimer here.

Ecofans do nothing. The sooner people accept this the better it will be for everyone. The collateral damage caused by the unfounded belief that they do something is a human tragedy.

Scuse me I'm not the argumentative sort but since Ive had a ecofan i haven't had to whack the heat detector to shut it up cos now the heat is evenly distributed around Horror House and doesn't head straight up stairs......

Please refer to my earlier disclaimer above Ecofans do nothing useful on boats which have correctly installed ventilation.

I specifically removed myself from a discussion about the usefulness of ecofans in land based dwellings because I know nothing about houses having not owned or lived in one as a responsible (?) adult other than a short period of renting a crap flat in Brixton (spits on ground)
And I have never owned an ecofan either. Maybe if I owned a house and an ecofan I could see the benefits but I don't so I can't.
I still think they are a triumph of marketing over quality but that's not unusual to be fair.

I have an unshaven believe that Eco fans do work because all the people I talk to who have a cold end on their boat are all lacking a Eco fan. We have one and spend the winter on our 60 footer in T-shirts and only a 4 tog duvet on the bed Phil
