I'll be in trouble for not doing a decent shot if she sees it, dappled sun and shadows on it etc. My old bat aunt has the same rocking chair. With the springs. I pronounce it Van Go (sound make when clearing phlegm from throat). My favourite van Gough picture is this one

Peter, you can correct me if if wrong but we pronounce Van Gogh as Van Go, when it should be more like Van coch (hard Ch) Yes Jim, you are right in Dutch we do pronounce that name more like Van coch, with the hard Ch. It's a pretty weird language, if my mum wouldn't have wasted so much of her time on me, straight after my birth and several years, I don't think that I would ever have bothered learning it . Peter. When I lived in Holland I always thought it was a harsh language very guttural, the cloggies always spoke to us in english and I have seen them talking to each other in english why because its easier!! I really enjoyed my time there great people such good fun

I can't think of any other reason for dutch people to speak to each other in another language than dutch, which should be much easier (even if they're fluent in other languages) as that's the language they've learned and spoken since they were born. Peter.

I'm good at blacking and ok at scumbling but pretty crap at actual painting...my red handrails have only lasted 2 yearsππ ] I really do admire your scumbling, that looks very professional. Peter. I'm doing a Northwich Trader engine room housing an unreliable POS 3pot Gardner sometime in the next month (when he finally finishes undercoating it!) I'll do some before / after pics for youππ

It's not the Gough, that carried him off, it was the coffin they carried Van off in. Yes, you're right they carried the coffin off in a Van . Peter.

Just read that Comastic is being outlawed from next January, anyone heard this? Not surprised, not used it but I've heard it's stinky stuff to use, a lot of nasty volatiles in it.
