I'm useless at all painting.

I brush painted my first boat and spray painted the second both turned out well. I tend to spray blacking nowdays as its easier than brushing and in my case its purely cosmetic on top of the zinger. Professionally the best boat painter I have seen is Shane from Castleford marine the finish is Rolls Royce quality!!!!

If you can piss you can paint.

It's not that difficult to get a decent finish it just takes time. So I reckon magnetman is just lazy

I just roller ...... I don't brush it out, a textured finish is fine by me ....... I don't own shiny boats

I'm going to do the full bodge on my barge this spring. Pressure washer to remove anything off the cabin top* then roller on some paint. I really can't be arsed to attempt to undo a previous owner's similar bodge which was done about 8 years ago.
Too much agro really.
*I am hoping the pressure washer will blast off the old kayaks and assorted random shite on the roof as well as any loose paint as I'm too lazy to remove things.

It's the preparation that takes the time and effort not the painting.
