He must have. A former male nurse with a caravan is going to get a lot of stick . I used to get stick when I was about 18 and first started training. Then my college mates met all my fellow (female) student nurses at the first party in the doctors residence and they realised I had made a very wise career choice and they never took the piss much after that.......

Reason for trains being cancelled before the snow is that the companies don't get financially penalised for any cancelled or delayed trains + plus it stops people shouting about why were you not prepared for this. Bit of a win win situation for the profit makers.

No sign of the Beast from the East in the East (excluding me, Stabby doesn't count because he's more like the Beast from the Midlands) few flakes of snow since 6am this morning and that's the size of it so far. Been cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey all day, unfortunately I've had to work outside for some of it, took plenty of hot coffee to revive myself from the ordeal

External temperature on my mooring is -1.1c so I imagine the canal will freeze overnight as it will only get colder. A few very minor flurries of snow earlier which didn't settle. I had to replace my car battery earlier and I was bitterly cold by the time I was finished, even though I was wearing my thickest pair of tights.

Yes, hence my comment I do sincerely hope this is a true story. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-40801937It took 6 years and a change of jobs to solve a riddle graffitied on the bog door at Carlsberg, it would be heartbreaking for it to be untrue!
