Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy fishing. Both on the lumpy stuff, and fly fishing (I caught a 3 lb bluebottle the other day ). However, what normal sane person would pay nearly £2,900 squids on a feckin' radio controlled bait boat?......... LINK
Now I'm sure it's a very fine bait boat, it has a fishfinder/GPS on board. But, nearly £3k for a RC Boat to take your maggots out to their Valhalla? I thinketh not. Don't fishermen use catapults to give their worms flying lessons anymore? I nearly sprayed my keyboard with a mouthful of coffee when I saw it. I was only looking through the boat section on ebay for any bargains. I came across this little Colvic 22 project boat + trailer for £2,500...... LINK which would shirly be much more fun.

It does seem odd. I don't "do" fishing however the previous owner left his rods in my recently acquired Colvic so I may have a go.
I've done spinning with a pike spoon occasionally in the past. It's good to get involved a bit.
I don't really understand the automation of fishing it seems to completely defeat the object. That assumes the object is to enjoy the challenge of catching fish. I suppose in some circumstances its just about having gadgets and getting away from the wife. Which is understandable.

Just don't tell the wife you have spent 3k on a boat to carry some maggots around though.

But do fishermen become bonkers? You must be bonkers to start, Shirley.
Edit...bit like being a tb member.

However, I've finally got my old boat back from Ireland. So I'm only after an engine for her to replace a twin pot Stuart Turner engine.

Goes well on a Hurth 50 with the original Stuart prop.

A Kubota d722 is excellent, I did a marinisation of one for Northern Star which originally had a P55M in it. Goes well on a Hurth 50 with the original Stuart prop. The old girl is only 17' long Gazza. I was in the middle of overhauling the engine when I was still married over there. When I had the head off, I noticed a hairline crack, which I did try to weld. As you know, cast ain't the easiest of things to weld, and with the added factor of it's age and being submitted to years of salt water use, and oil absorption in the porous metal, the weld was just blowing apart. So I'm on the look out for a half decent 10/15/18hp diesel to shove in. I'm also going to convert her to wheel steerage.

As you say a hiding to nothing salvaging the Stuart.
The D722 and Hurth 50 took no more space than the P55 and it's box, smooth and sweet sounding triple.
Look for a two cylinder Z482 or Z600, John has a twin in his Ormelite and is happy with it, Magnetman also has a twin in his Colvic.
Axiom noddy cars are a good source of Kubota diesels

The D722 I had for my Colvic Fisher came out of a garden tractor.

All these mixed up letters and numbers are confusing for us none mechanical types.
It looks like a dyslexics convention.
