I always use the disabled loos as you get your privacy in that one room. I don't care to see lots of men shaking their willies and spend hours washing their hands and playing with the air dryer. It's creepy. Here you go Foxy, a RADAR key for only 4 pounds, and from a reputable shop.

It's creepy. Brilliant, you hypocrite. You think it's ok to use a facility that technically you aren't ment to use, yet you think me using cart services makes me a thief. Ya couldn't make it up!

must just be the campsites we use. never seen charges for filling or emptying anything. Is this when you aren't actually camping there? They just let anyone on site to fill/empty FOC, then you bugger off again? obviously campers. that's why I thought it was interesting what you said. wasent sure if you meant people who stayed or not. never wild camped with a motor home so not really thought about non campers.

the problem is keys are readily available on eBay and places. really they need to be security type keys that can't be cut anywhere. I don't think security keys would work. I worked for the local water authority for 10 years, I could get security keys, (that shouldn't be copied) cut at a locksmith's for next to nothing. There is always away around situations. There needs to be a way to charge non boaters to use the services. I'm afraid I'm right out of ideas on how it could be implemented. I kind of agree. I have one too. water key and southern electric one. no idea how. one of them we had a padlock at work with the same key. once again no idea how.

The solution is quite simple really, electronic locks with card access. When you pay your liscence fee you get issued your card for the year. If they then improved some of the facilities they could charge non boaters for access to the facilities. It would also have the advantage of barring boaters who don't pay their liscence from using the facilities. ....... So just how would this work? Works fine for buildings such as hotels and business sites where all electronic locks can be updated from a central base - can't see that happening without very considerable expense. Ok you could go for a simple system such as on the Lancaster but is this not just swopping a bit of metal for a bit of electronics?

Dave mayal if it's the same guy from cwdf, he was one of the most staunch supporters of cart. He seems to have changed his mind. I really think cart have shot themselves in the foot with this rebranding, from my experience it seems to be universally disliked and held in disdain. Do they really think the public are so gullible?

Doesn't matter what you or any other current waterways users think. It's the far more slippery government money they're trying to cling onto by pretending to reinvent themselves.

Personally I don't think anything they do will make any difference at all so they should spend all the money on maintenance. What's good (or not BAD) for a political career or two when the crunch comes is more important to securing money via government into the future. Who do you include in public opinion? Not that it matters, because unless it was headline news for a year and 50 million people signed a petition they'll do what they want. Even if the 50 million petition arose, they'd just delay it and try again a few years later while they were invading Iraq or something. Michael Gove is ONLY interested in two things, knowing better than anyone else snd his career. No heart. Reminds me of our own Mr Logic.

I must say you seem to have a bit of a defeatist attitude.

I must say you seem to have a bit of a defeatist attitude. Realism based on past performance. I lost faith in politics when I lived in Sheffield and all the pensioners she was fucking over voted her back in because "she's a strong woman". People are both fickle and gullable and I'm afraid that if you think anyone apart from boaters give a toss about rebranding or have any interest in CRTs spending beyond what CRT tell them you're wrong. And boaters don't count unless there's a mass removal of boats from CRT waters. Even then it's boats, not boaters.

So don't bother doing anything then, I mean why did you even bother writing the post? You may as well just end it all now.
