In this sentence you are using "others" in its plural sense (the grammar of others) and therefore the apostrophe should be after the "s", not before it. Had you said "each other's" then you would have been correct but you didn't so you aren't. You are correct, thank you. No problem. It's the sort of thing one is taught at a proper school.

English never my strongest subject at school..loved Literature failed Language... I find the posts concerning use of ' very enlightening but I will not remember..what didn't sink into the grey matter then is not likely to now so I'll keep making mistakes..

You are correct, thank you. No problem. It's the sort of thing one is taught at a proper school. One certainly is, however in the cut and thrust of a forum such as this, when most other people don’t bother to spell properly or construct proper sentences, it is easy to let standards slip. Especially when typing on a small virtual keyboard on a tablet. Don’t worry, I don’t feel in the slightest bit picked on just because you only point out my apostophatic anomalies and no one elsez.

Picking up on other’s grammar etc can be helpful. In this sentence you are using "others" in its plural sense (the grammar of others) and therefore the apostrophe should be after the "s", not before it. Had you said "each other's" then you would have been correct but you didn't so you aren't. Yes, I pointed that out 6 posts above this. It was for Magnetman who mis-spelt the word: others'. Or rather that he just missed the ' off. Standards at M16 are slipping. Kris seemed to think it was a snipe at him but it wasn't. The breakfast bowls were a slight dig in the ribs for kris but only after Nick got in first. I suppose it beats laughing at fat people.

How about you making a list of suggestions as to what could be done? A suggestion from me would be to write about this, and other canals/waterways issues, such as the wasted money on the new stupid logo, have it printed onto A4 paper, make thousands of photocopies and distribute these to people on the towpaths who look like they are intelligent enough to read and act. Let people know what's happening, let people know the truth!
How about sending a letter to my mate Ivor Caplan of the IWA and having his reply published here?

Its not crt though that are leading this from what the floater reports? I don't know they seem to have cultivated a relationship with the junior minister from defra. You also have to remember that cart and the iwa spend a lot of money every year lobbying mp's.
