There is a shop on a small housing estate on the left just up the hill from the junction in Luddendendenden foot. How far up are you coming? I'm moving my boat up to the top of the hill today or tomorrow, it's just below l32 at the moment. We have rain forecast today so that should ease issues a bit. Coming up from Hebden last week I had to keep going ahead and letting water down, but its not too bad further up. I'll let you know when I've seen it.

ANYWAYS... Yesterday - the WHOLE day - we managed to get from just outside Salterhebble to Luddenfoot I think it's called... NOT a lot of water and even on tickover some of the bridges required us both to sit on one side... NOT helped by the lockie at tuel lane letting water down into sowerby bridge.... which wasn't needed compared to the chaos it will cause up here. Today we aim for Hebden bridge but having had a walk last night, it's going to be interesting. MORE worrying is the gin has nearly ran out... and the beer.... and the wine... all we have left is champers. U got Champers?..wow....I've run out..waiting for the Christmas offers to restock...

Women's tennis is so much more interesting as the rallies are generally longer. Lots of wrist injuries in womens' tennis though. Women's I must say I expected better of you. Of all the people on this forum I would not have expected you to make such an elementary grammatical error. Or maybe it was deliberate. I don't know.

My only defence is that I didn't go to proper school.

I sorta went 'proper school'..All gurls High School but my grammar ain't wot it should be.....pre that I attended private school for 2 years but the demon fearsome headmistress who believed in whacking those who couldn't grasp the 3 r's with a ruler didn't manage to install much in the way of punctuation/use of English into my brain. What I don't know I make up...

In picture est puella. Nomine Flavia. Sub arbore sedet. In the picture (or painting) is a girl named Flavia, sitting under a tree?

Yes. Except my memory is playing tricks it was actually Cornelia who was sitting under the tree.

WE've made it to Hebden bridge (just above lock 9) today... going to sleep on it as to whether we'll try to get to Mancs and back or not... it was SO tedious spending hours not moving and having to walk miles to run water down to get here. This poor boat in hebden is not in a good place right now. We might give in... spend a few days here and than fight our way back down - crt really are burying their head in the sand by NOT putting up notices... oh wait... they just have.
