Here is the wood that was covered up by the carpet. Had to use petrol to get the carpet glue off and then a sand and one coat of varnish. I have added the forest scene for a bit of interest but I may replace that with a clock. I decided to go ahead and replace the forest scene with a clock. Far more usefulπ Clock was cut from Gaboon ply which I salvaged from a Mirror dinghy.

Where this sits in the drascombe cabin there is no chance of leaning on it. But I think I will use a round disc on standoffs to protect it from stuff that will be on the shelf in front of it.

Had my first outing with the Wayfarer yesterday. Not much wind and I only went out with the jib up, but I enjoyed it.

Richmond is a really nice place for boating in pleasant weather. Thanks for the pictures. The narrow boat doesn't look that old. Maybe just the front half of it? The Dutch Tjalk is quite pretty. The blue oiler is also Dutch and quite a nice little barge. I've seen that one in Limehouse marina doing diesel deliveries.

It was great Patty. The sun was out a nice breeze and not too busy. All the best, Paul.

Short video of my trip on the Thames from Chiswick to Richmond. This is the first outing for the new outboard and it was great.
